I could see this being the reason. Of course the band members are well off, but Im sure management wouldn't mind getting their hands on more money. If this stemmed from management, this is one idea I support from them.

On the other hand, I think the band almost wanted to do this. They could potentially be playing 7-10 songs more each night which over the course of a 40 stop tour equals anywhere from 280-400 more song performances. They arent playing double shows in frat houses anymore and Dave's voice can barely handle a normal tour. So I think their has got to be some sort of drive behind the band for this.

    EDIT: Or all of the opening acts have become sick and tired of hearing SMLAM and Cornbread every night.

    There is truth to this.

    In 2010, The Last Stop was the song that EVERYONE wanted liberated.

    DMB waits until the last show of the summer tour on the East Coast to bust it out.

    DMB then plays it at 7 of the 12 shows of their Fall Tour (that happened to be almost entirely on the East Coast).

    Coincidence? Nah........
