Tried to post this the other day but apparently it failed.

Day after I went to my local World of Beer for the 4 hands takeover they pulled some bottles of prop and VR from the cellar unannounced. Saw someone post on facebook so I dashed over there, prop was already gone but had a pour of VR, and of course since it was still there, some Madagascar for a BA vanilla stout side by side. Both are great beers. Surprisingly, Madagascar is close to as thick and viscous as VR, which amazed me since BCBS and its variants are basically the most perfect thick stout out there IMO. VR is a LOT more vanilla heavy, even after a year in the bottle, and more barrel as well. Madagascar has a lot more base beer flavor, with the vanilla and barrel complimenting it and present, but not as in your face. Both are awesome beers.

done buying beer for a bit. all stocked up after the weekend. 3mozaccalypse, 2 stoneface ipa, 4pk of Long Trail's Space Juice, 4pk of Baxter's Bootleg Fireworks DIPA, bomber of Stone Sorry not Sorry DIPA, and some SN celebration.

one of my buddies is doing a tasting in the next couple weeks with a bunch of beers he got from HF. Bringing my DFH 120min from Jan14 and the Lawsons/OC Double or Nothing maple barleywine.

Not a huge barleywine fan either, but this sounded very interesting... Bert's (as far as I know) hasn't gotten any yet. Keep checking there, Barb's and Sully's since they are closest to me.

Nice. My buddy also scored a case today in Lemonister, MA. I think he also tracked down 1 Regal Rye and traded to get a couple Rares. He's had no luck finding any coffee or BW. I don't even know how much of the reg we will see here in NH

I know this may not be the popular opinion, but of all the bourbon county bottles, standard might be the best value and arguably best of the group. None of the variants besides maybe Barleywine hold up to age as well as standard BCBS. I'm more than happy to have 12 bottles and maybe I will run into other variants on Friday but I'm not concerned. Super stoked to have standard.

how are you all scoring these BCBS if they are told not to be sold until Black Friday?

Apparently some stores around me started selling on Monday and now are getting their hands slapped by Inbev already.

it happens everywhere...and while InBev might get upset by it, locally I've seen nothing happen to stores that sell early. In fact the place I got mine from got more this year than they did last year...and they've sold early to me the last 4 years.

True story, guy called me yesterday when he got it in and said "Fuck this black friday shit, it's in the system and I'll sell it all to you if you want it".
