Re: Can Martin Campbell please direct Deadpool, too?

The movie totally nails the "self-aware" concept that have made the Deadpool books so entertaining over the last few years. I was slightly worried that the deluge of trailers had given away the best jokes already, but they just keep on rolling. There are a lot of Easter eggs for hardcore fans to pick out, but my wife who has never picked up a comic was also thoroughly entertained.

I really enjoyed it. Very funny - if you like teenage-boy, dick and balls, crude humor. The action was really great. It was nice to see someone get sliced in half and actually see some blood in a Marvel movie.

Can't really compare it to another movie - especially not a Marvel movie (pretty sure there isn't another Marvel movie with full-frontal nudity). I think the subsequent sequels will be much better than this one. It had too much origin story built in but they did a good job of intertwining that with the bigger story.

I think the origin story helps. You would be surprised how many people think the stitched mouth Deadpool from Origins: Wolverine is how Deadpool is supposed to be.

I've already heard about one very meta-ish joke from this (not featured in any trailer or ad), that that alone practically makes me all the more interested in seeing this. it's pretty damn funny.

Saw it tonight. Very funny, very entertaining. Exactly how a Deadpool movie should have been, they nailed it for sure. The action sequences were also very well-done. Also really enjoyed the interweaving of the present day and the backstory.

Laughed almost the whole way through. At least a few solid laughs in almost every scene.

Even though it's not Marvel studios/Disney, this is probably the best thing that's had a Marvel logo in front of it since Winter Soldier.

    I agree with Steng.

It's probably one of the best comic-to-screen translations we've seen from Marvel or DC thus far. It's like a Deadpool comic come to life.

This movie is making bank and breaking all kinds of records. The ad campaign has been nothing short of fantastic.

Easily some of the best, if not the best marketing ever for a movie.

I also really hope that studios will be more willing to shell out R rated comic movies based on Deadpool's success.

I'm okay with that as long as it's true to the character. Like an R-rated Captain America or Thor just wouldn't feel right. But if they do another Punisher or even Wolverine I'd be okay with it. I don't want an R-rated movie just to have it be more graphic.

Saw it earlier today and absolutely loved it! Thought it was entertaining and funny throughout. The jokes worked and made it really funny. I will definitely see it again and look forward to the sequel. Reynolds is perfect for this role and I truly that Jackman makes an appearance at some point.

Easily one of the better comic movies I've seen in awhile.

Really? I haven't seen anything that makes me want to see this movie, and I'll watch anything.

I'm not even sure what marketing I've seen, other than a trailer (that didn't look very good.)

Holy crap. That was seriously one of the best comic movies I've ever seen. As a long time fan of Deadpool in the comics, they absolutely nailed it. That movie was non stop action and humor, everything I hoped it would be. The wife and I were thinking about going back to see it again as soon as we left the theater.

I'm curious to see the extended unrated cut but I feel like that's going to be excessively crude/explicit just for the sake of being crude/explicit. I think the editors did a nice job of condensing it to actual meaningful jokes and keeping on course.

I bet there will be a "line-o-rama" type thing, like Apatow includes in his films. Like when the guy is coming up with all the jokes about Deadpool's face, I bet there is a ton of outtakes from that scene.

I don't recall hearing "You look like the inside of other people's assholes" in the movie so there's probably plenty of extra lines from that particular scene that were cut out

I loved that cameo. Probably one of the better Stan Lee cameos.

And that after credit scene - so much possible with that.

Interesting. I figured the extended cut was a certain with this movie. Oh well, the theatrical cut was pretty perfect and I think it'd be muddied up in an extended cut.

That was a fun refreshing film. It was nice to have a cbm not be about threats to the world/universe. My only hope is that the other studios dont start all trying to go 'R' becaus they think its what is in. That'll ruin it quickly.

By the way, how dumb are some parents? Had some bringing kids under 5 into the showing i saw. Heard the kid mid-way through 'i dont like this anymore.' Probably after deadpool chopped someones head off.
