funny thing is that i was a fan of his at the time, but i had no clue that it was the actual spot they found him... but i had the weirdest/creepy feeling when i was in the water that made me just want to get the fuck out asap.

I think the simple addition of this song on Soup, and released as the first single, would have changed the course of what happened with this great band.

Idk if I could get it down to 5 but my favorite is Drive for personal reasons. This is especially my favorite version. It's tough hearing him talk about getting old and milkin youth but damn I just love the song. http://youtu.be/jaqxXLzQ66M

Listened to their best of album right around this time, and became hooked immediately. Nico and Soup are two almost-flawless albums front to back. It's a shame this band will never ever get the credit they deserve. Walk, Changes, St. Andrew's Fall, Soul One, Tones of Home....so many really really really good songs.

I really enjoyed their 2008 album (that isn't on Spotify oddly enough). I thought the new guy was a good replacement, not as good as Shannon but good enough. Saw them 3-4 times around then and they were great shows.

The older I get the more I forget about this band. Shame because they were a pretty big deal in the 90s.

Should have been so much more than they were. They had the double edged sword of having a massive hit single that sounded absolutely nothing like the rest of the record or their catalog.

    Listening to Nico right now.

Good list, but not complete without St. Andrews Fall. This is one of my five favorite bands of the '90s, and Shannon Hoon's death hit me a LOT harder than Kurt Cobain's. A true loss...someone who had a whole lot more to offer the world.
