Then the next day she pours it through a cheesecloth back into another mason jar, then keeps it in the fridge. It's strong, so when you make a cup you add more water and then your desired cream and sugar.

I've had it a couple of times and it's fine, just like any other home brew iced coffee.
That sounds extremely simple. Maybe i'll give that a go before I buy anything. Thank you.

Is cold brew just where you leave it in the fridge overnight? Is it really more potent?

I think my brother in law does a french press at night where he'll use cold water and ground up beans, puts it unfiltered in the fridge over night (so he doesn't press down on the filter) and then in the morning presses the filter down and has coffee that way. Is that essentially cold brew? And should I be cutting the coffee with water if I do it that way?

    Medium roast, french vanilla creamer

Best coffee I've ever had though is the cold brew from The Loving Cup by Matt, thehammer, right here on ants

As I mentioned my wife leaves it out overnight, which I confirmed with at least one "how-to" I googled a little bit ago. Then after she strains it, she keeps it in the fridge until she's ready to pour a cup. It needs to be diluted maybe 50/50 with more water, and you could dilute it more or less depending on how strong you want it.

Once you're done though, I dunno how different it is. I'm barely a coffee drinker, so I didn't notice a difference.

Has anyone else noticed a shortage of light cream? It started about a month ago. I go to store after store and can't find it. Thankfully I occasionally find it at my local 7/11 but that is still hit or miss. Curious what has caused this. There is plenty of heavy cream and other milk products.

Is light cream the same as half and half? I don’t think I’ve heard that term.

Love my Nespresso machine. I mainly drink drip coffee during the week, but will make an espresso drink on the weekend.

I have not noticed any shortage of cream in my area.

I was recently just gifted a 9-cup version of a Pyrex Flameware percolator. Damn does it make a fine cup of coffee.

Still have the Keurig for most mornings, as well as the French press for weekends.

I love coffee any way and have zero complaints with the Keurig/kcups.

Re: How do you make your coffee

    Good coffee = Black
Bad Covfefe = preferably not at all but if it's an emergency situation I had lots of cream and sugar and make it light and sweet. Folgers, Maxwell house, these are all horrible coffees to be avoided. The only time I will set foot or vehicle on Starbucks property is if I'm out of town and there's no other local alternative. Starbucks is literally the Walmart or McDonald's of coffee houses. I probably have an unhealthy level of hatred for them. They claim that they're socially responsible. The lie detector test determined that's BS. They're a little bit better than most companies but in the end all of their employees are just indentured servants. With what they charge for a cup of coffee there's no reason any of their employees should be struggling. They do the same thing as any other company and even managers are lucky to be full-time. Just so they don't have to pay out health Care benefits. Sickening really.

Starbucks took a like detector test? How does that even work?

Also, can you just have a normal conversation and not bring your bullshit into every thread please? Thanks.

Also, I drink my coffee black. Big fan of Joffrey's.

I have never understood people describing French Press as time-consuming or labor-intensive. It's literally:
-60-90 seconds to get out the french press, scoop in coffee grounds, fill up kettle and turn on the stove
-30 seconds to take the kettle off the stove, pour hot water into the French Press and put the top onto the French Press
-30 seconds to push grounds to the bottom and pour me and my wife a cup of coffee

That's less than 3 minutes to make a superior cup of coffee. Sure it takes time for the water to heat up, but I spend that time getting myself or my daughter ready for the day so it has nothing to do with making coffee.

Well, you're also leaving out that you have to 1. wait for the water to boil and 2. you're supposed to let the coffee grounds steep in the hot water for at least 5-6 minutes before pressing.

Also, our French press is small, so we only get 2 small to average sized cups out of it. It's nice for an afternoon cup when we don't need a lot of coffee, but the percolator makes 12 cups at a time and gets us through 2 large cups each when we wake up/start work for the day.

If you're not grinding your beans at home, no matter how you brew it, you're doing it wrong

We camp a lot and the French press was a great addition to our supplies and routine. Amazing coffee by simply boiling water.

At home I’ll die a Mr. Coffee owner. I prefer drip coffee personally.

Re: How do you make your coffee

Iced cafe Americano is my go-to at Starbucks. So good.
