Does anyone know how the crew travels?? The other day I thought about it and it just got me wondering

Well, I mean like the amount of luxury, cause i know the band pretty much each have their own bus, i know obviously the crew doesnt. But what kind of hotels do they stay at and such.

I'm pretty sure that at the Gorge they mostly all stayed at the Best Western in Moses Lake. We stayed over the road, but hit the pool at the BW every day, and there were always a couple of tour buses out front until about 3 or 4 pm, and after N2 there were a bunch of crew in the bar...

We travel on tour busses that accomodate eight people each. On days off, or on days that we're in a city for two shows we're put up in hotels. DMB takes care of us very well with very nice hotels which I imagine is quite an expense because there are more than 50 people on the crew now. On breaks we are flown back to our homes around the country.

On a site for hardcore DMB fans, it's bound to happen, because we love the music so much that we pick apart individual songs and aspects we love/hate. It only means we care. <3.

Big reason I think we'll get shows next year, in some form or other, is because of how much they seem to care about their crew.

I'd bet some money that the Caravans in 2011 were just done to take care of their crew.

edit: And that's not to say that taking a year off would be a slight to the crew or anything. Every member of that crew could get on some other tour next year if they wanted to, and I'm sure mgmt could/would help facilitate it.

I completely agree with both sides of this post. We very well could see something along the lines of a few Caravan stops with the crew's well being in mind. But a year off, fully-paid, partially paid, whatever have you, isn't a negative either. These people are smart.

If it's truly a full summer off and someone on the crew still wanted to work, I'm sure they can find an opportunity no problem.

4-5 of the truck drivers stayed at the resort at Alpine this year (probably all years), great guys

I'm still going with no full band shows in 2017, and a big part of the early announcement was so that the crew would have time to find other gigs, as the band really cares about them, and all the folks working the tour is a big reason why the band keeps going

Yeah. Met some of the crew before D&T this time just eating dinner, chatted for about an hour, they are a really sound bunch of people! Made sure to pass along my gratitude
