Unfortunately, I heard the debut of Be Yourself. #NeverForgetWalnutCreek2015

Last night's songs on the other hand.... like/love them all.

    BTW, Welcome to Ants!

You guys are worse than the "cool" kids I high school. Dave shows used to be a place to go watch a great show and have a good time. Now you risk being called out because you don't like a certain SONG! There's a song or TWO at every show by every band EVER that is a bathroom song. Honestly, Last Stop is one of those for me. So, to sum up. Stop being so judge mental of others.

Re: Stupid things heard at a show: 2016

I was directly in front of the most amazing dude at JPJ the other night. I've heard about people like this but I've never had the pleasure of being right next to one at a show before. This guy got so many things wrong it became quite comical to me and my wife. A couple of the highlights:

He informed all his friends the reason they started at 8 and not 7 like the ticket said is because Dave was aware how much fun everyone was having tailgating and wanted to give them an extra hour (yes, I'm serious)

He INSISTED that Sugar Will was a new song. Apparently it was also his favorite of the new songs.

He was certain Dave has never played piano in front of an audience before, and this was surely happening because it's a 25th anniversary celebration.

He proclaimed that a Grey St set closer was so incredibly rare, we got an extended version featuring a jam "unlike he has ever seen, bro!" and that we all got a huge treat.

But then he also proclaimed they would absolutely be coming back for a full second set, and that since set 1 was two and a half hours, and since set 2 is always longer, we should all be prepared for them to play until 1am or later.

During the encore break, right after he told everyone around him that we should be bracing for a second set, one of his friends says "I really wanna hear Ants Marching", and he then explained that they never play Ants Marching except as the first song of the night because "it's too much of a party song and Dave only pulls it out at the start of a show to get everyone amped up. Since it didn't open, you shouldn't expect it."

    0% excitement for Last Stop.

Then during Last Stop, one of his friends asked if this is another new song, and he says,"I'm really not sure, bro, but I haven't heard it before so I'm pretty sure it is."

I really wish I could tell you guys I am embellishing this story, but I truly am not. Honestly I'm probably forgetting some really good stuff. It was literally all night with this dude. Other than how loud he was, I really enjoyed his presence. He provided me and the wife with some serious lulz.

Honestly if you told me that dude was still in his seat at JPJ waiting for set two, I would believe it

First off, it's judgmental not judge mental. Secondly, it's poking fun at people for not liking a certain song, it's poking fun of people who have no clue what they are watching but like to loudly proclaim that they know exactly what is going on and are hilariously wrong.

Not stupid, but on the other end of the spectrum, I had a guy near me in 312 who clearly got it. He slept in his seat during the wait for Dave to take the stage. Stood for most the show but broke out an insane air guitar and dance during Sugar Will and Last Stop. He clearly got it.

I am fascinated by stories (and people) like this. So, like, where DO these people come from?

And, I am not criticizing. I am just intrigued by the uber strong convictions that this guy has (about the band), that are just so wildly off.

I have been at a few shows where "a guy" insists that Tim Reynolds never plays with the band and that we are in for a "treat".

No I didn't. I thought about it but he was having a blast and his friends didn't seem to mind him. I didn't wanna blow the guy's spot. Plus he was offering gold consistently. It just kept coming and coming. And he was one of those people that manage to get their voices really loud at a concert so we could clearly hear everything he was saying over the music. Honestly that part kind of sucked and probably warranted me politely asking him to quiet down a bit, but it was just too good

    Dear god...

So you would rather listen to Virginia in the Rain or When the World Ends than Last Stop....yikes

What's wrong with being the cool kids in high school?

Anyway, you are getting last stop confused with WAYG and you and me. No way last stop is a piss break song. Even if the song is a bit overrated. Your opinion sucks bud.

I've witnessed this exact thing. Half way through a show (and AFTER a few awesome Tim solos) Dave said Tim's name and "a guy" flipped and told us all to prepare ourselves because Tim hasn't played with the band in years and we're all about to be blown away.

And IMO last stop is not overrated at all. It's an amazing song.

I don't post here often but this may be the best thread on the interwebs. Has made my morning.

Nothing said of note around me but, girl in front of me, SEC 114, slept from Warehouse on. Not passed out, slept. She just sat down, tucked her head, and straight went to nap town.

It's a good song, but it's overrated here due to its rarity.

It used to be Halloween, but that started getting a lot of play and dropped down a peg or two here.

I love that it was the girl that would have rather gone to a basketball game than see DMB.
