IMO, they wouldn't use a photo from the beacon if it wasn't going to be at the beacon. the beacon's schedule is practically empty aside from 3 shows (2 of them are UM). compared to the past 5 years of so, the beacon's schedule is pretty lame...would not be surprised to see them getting DMB back in there for this super bowl concert series. I mean, what, they had the National for like 7 straight shows in 2012. beacon's sched is hurting this year.

The full list of headliners and ticket information will be revealed on Thursday, January 9, 2014.


The rumors of the beacon were true so hopefully the picture of the band that was up wasn't just a promo shot for the beacon and means they are in fact playing a show there.


I was lucky enough to win 1 ticket to the super bowl show of my choice once they announce the bands yesterday as part of a raffle from the company 1iota who is doing the ticketing for the shows by going to a free taping of a sports talk show in nyc. I highly suggest you guys signup on their site so you'll be ready for when the ticketing process begins.

Um, wrong event. Vh1 Super Bowl blitz performances will be announced January 9th, and this is a different series of concerts

Local radio station is going away tickets for the Brooklyn show on 2/1 with the Chili Peppers headlining. It is labeled as a pre Super Bowl show...

Really hope this doesn't mean OAR. Not sure why they would be considered to have the most loyal fan base, but certainly makes more sense size-wise at Brooklyn Bowl than DMB does. Saw OAR at the old Knitting Factory in NYC in '07 and am pretty sure BK Bowl is bigger.

Saw Blues Traveler at BB two years ago. Extremely small venue. Definitely in the hundreds.

So based on the hints, they're not playing the opening show, closing show, or Brooklyn Bowl show. This means they'll either play at Lehman College, The Beacon Theatre, or The Wellmont Theatre.

The Wellmont Theater is the closing show...The venue that makes most sense would be The Beacon and the clue about who throws the best tailgate party could be about them.

Whoops, I meant St George Theatre. And I agree about the Beacon Theatre, considering they used a photo of DMB at the Beacon Theatre from 2009.

Brooklyn bowl is small and the pic of DMB is the beacon. I'd be surprised if it's anyone else at beacon or DMB elsewhere...or DMB at all.

I don't know what the Welmont holds but BK bowl holds 500ish. I saw Robert Randolph there. I doubt that includes the ppl bowling.
