I am sure I am not the only one who read Fonz's quote but here it is...

Can it really mean another album?! Or am I just reading into things too much?

You're probably reading too much into it. I doubt they have started actually working on an album at all. But maybe just maybe that have concrete plans to go work on one in the near future.

I definitely got excited when I read that, too.

I think it just means that because they aren't touring in support of a record right now, they have more freedom to play anything in the catalog.

I just wish they would feel this freedom all the time. I mean I am all for promoting an album, but BW got promoted for almost 3 solid summers!

I really think they need to release an album of all the extra songs they have lying around before they release any new songs. "Idea of you", "Shotgun", etc NEED to be released. There are many fans who only listen to the albums, and don't even know that these great songs exist! It would be an easy album for them to record. In fact, they probably have most of these songs recorded, just need to fine tune and polish them and release them! I think "Idea of you" is a guaranteed, solid gold HIT, and might give them the boost they need if they wish to keep filling venues year after year.

What we "need" as fans and what they want to do as artists are worlds apart though. As cool as it would be for us, it would probably feel tedious to them. If something like this were to ever happen (and I seriously doubt it will) it would probably happen post breakup and will come in the form of a live compilation album. That way the fans will get live trax quality versions of stuff that was never recorded in studio (or released) and the band doesn't have to do a damn thing. Obviously there are already quality live cuts of several of these songs, but there are also a bunch that haven't been released yet (Break For It, to name one) or are in desperate need of another live version (Shotgun, Good Good Time to name a few others). Of course with this we'd probably also get things we never wanted at all (you don't give up......)

I agree that it would be tedious for them, and feel like backpaddling a little bit. It'd just be nice to get the songs "out there", and it wouldn't take much effort on their part to record/release this album. Possible tracks for inclusion:

But yes, there will be another album sometime. Whenever they feel the need to make one.

My immediate reaction to that quote was that he is talking about this summer tour. No album coming.

I agree. I could see an announcement about towards the end if the 14 summer tour and a single out around February 15 then the album drops as the tour starts.

I just hope they work with Lillywhite again.

it's pretty black and white...they just released an album, they will release another one...they are between albums...wouldn't expect anything before late 2014/early 2015 though

Lillywhite tweeted not too long ago that he's ready to get them back in the studio again.

They released an album. They have not released another album yet. Therefore you can draw the conclusion that they are in between albums.
