The two and done rule should make it tougher for Cal to bring in the best of the best every year. It'll be more difficult to get guys to come in one year knowing they've got top 10 recuits ahead of them for at least one year. It'll be intersting how that impacts Cal's approach.

I have no doubt he'll adapt. It may not mean monstrous classes like last year but a 2 and done rule would undoubtedly be good for Kentucky. Just as is it would be better for Kansas, Duke, etc...

The two year rule will allow Cal to get a second year in his system out of elite guys. It'll also allow other blue bloods to catch up to the talent he has had annually since arriving at Kentucky. It'll be interesting to see whether Kentucky or the other schools benefit more from the change.

I don't think the two-year rule would do anything other than benefit Duke as long as K is the coach. He hasn't had a ton of success with one-and-done guys, so having two years instead of one with someone like Kyrie or Jabari would definitely be a positive.

It'll be interesting to see if the players accept it - they've always "wanted" something for age restrictions in the past. Which is really weird, because it basically extends every NBA player's a career by a year.

If the owners want it, it's eminently reasonable for the players to find out just how much the owners want it. The benefit to the current players is so remote and intangible as to be non-existent as a bargaining chip for the owners.

In tonight's shocker of the night, I had them losing to UF in the 2nd round, so the damage was minimal. Had Duke losing in the 2nd round, too. Guess I kinda lucked out that year.

Thankfully you are not a Michigan fan, because then you'd be part of the most pretensions fan base in college athletics. The NCAA rule of a year suspension is as stupid as it gets in the NCAA - and thats saying something.

He tested positive for weed when he had been out for the season for months.

Now, college basketball loses one of its better players one way or another. Nice work NCAA, as always.

I agree that a year suspension for weed is overkill, but every single NCAA athlete signs documents at the beginning of the season acknowledging that they know about the drug testing policy. Even if he was out for the year, he should have known better than to do something like that before the tournament, when the NCAA is going to be drug testing guys out the wazoo.

No one is arguing that the NCAA legally couldn't do this, but shouldn't do this.

When you signed your lease you gave your landlord the right to come in and inspect your apartment whenever he wants to. Don't think you'd like it much if he came in at 3:30 a.m. with a vacuum cleaner to make sure the floor was tidy.

At the same time, how hard is it to not smoke weed when you're aware of how risky it is and how many people you'd let down if you got caught. Plus he just had to wait until May and he could have smoked his balls off.

Yeah the NCAA sucks but McGary is a dumb ass. I smoke weed several times a week but I don't play big time pro basketball. Just a selfish and stupidly risky decision.
