    Nothing too egregious from blossom.

Did think it was funny literally the second I stepped out of the car I heard a bro asking his bro "so its just the two of them tonight?" At least he was partially aware

Also met some older dude in his late 60s in the porto line who was talking to what I guess was his son and proclaimed that Mercy was an old song.

Crowd impressed me in my section and everywhere around I could see, everyone was quiet besides singing, respectful and focused on the stage.

Is the arrogance of wrongful information (i.e. tour/song/member stats) as abundant with other fanbases or are DMB fans just extra cocky when it comes to being insistent that things like "Oh yeah, Mercy, that's an early 90s jam."

Mercy at 5 years id certainly say is old.

In comparison if you heard Idea of You/ Shotgun in 2011, would you say its new from 2006?

Or how about Spoon in 2003 from 1998?

Or Too Much in 2001 from 96?

I mean, it's from the newest album. In both of your example, those songs are from an album that would have been 3 releases back in each case

Didn't seem extra cocky, it's a thread of 'stupid things heard' - and although there could be a slight debate, I wouldn't consider 5/26 years (ie song to band existence ratio) a lot

I think this thread is just to laugh at unnamed and unnameable people's ignorance or bullsh*t, so where's the harm?

EDIT: with the examples above, a 5 year old song from an 11/13 years old band would be old, it's like half its life. But a fifth of its life I would say is NOT old. IMHO.

I think this thread is just to laugh at unnamed and unnameable people's ignorance or bullsh*t, so where's the harm?

EDIT 2: why does that keep happening, i click edit and it posts new comments

See, that one doesn't make sense. If I'm buying a ticket for an opener I'm going to make sure that I'm at least interested in seeing the main act.

I was actually pretty surprised at the following the Lumineers have. I was at their Good Morning America show in Central Park last Friday, and some of the fans I met there were very dedicated to the band. On the level of DMB even.

Saw moe. open for DMB in Scranton in 2013 and a kid/guy in the row in front of us was all about moe. But when DMB came on he sat down, complained to the girl who he was with (who was clearly there for DMB), and continued to pout about it for the remainder of the show. They got in an argument near the end of the main set and he stormed off. She apologized and stayed for the rest of the set. Felt bad for her

No I'm fully aware. It just seems like there's a lot of people at DMB shows that seem to consider themselves a vault of DMB knowledge but really they don't know anything. All I'm asking is it like this with other bands?

My brother had an ex-friend (guy turned out to be a creep) who was way too fucking into OAR where he bought tix for OAR opening for DMB in 2006 and bitched the whole show. Probably in jail now.

Why do the newbies bother people? You know what you are so who cares! It's the $ from them that gives Dave incentive to keep going. If was at Central Park or Millers cool, I have the memories. It doesn't make me more important than some dumbass shouting Boyd at D&T.

Yes. I hear this type of stuff at other bands as well. Phish, Dead, and even John Mayer concerts.

Its not newbies, its people who spout off claiming they know something when they know themselves they dont, but they say it to look cool to their friends, its dumb in any situation, not just concerts.

The people that I know who know the most about the band hardly say anything when at shows.

At Blossom during LIOG, there was a woman sitting right in front of me who sat down and played a game on her phone for the entire song.

There was an older gentlemen and a lady directly behind me that sat for at least half the show, didnt look back if they were messing on their phones.... to the point where he loudly said "THANK YOU" when I and most of the people in front of me sat during a Tim solo.

where were you sitting? I was in 34 row H.

I never understood why people continue to get upset that people want to sit down.

Not everybody feels like standing for 3 straight hours.

Now, the fact that he audibly said "THANK YOU" when everybody sat shows he is a little naive when it comes to etiquette at DMB/D&T shows, however that still doesn't excuse the fact that people needlessly get upset when people sit.

    Who cares?

Wasnt upset, but dont give me attitude for finally sitting down when literally the entire crowd is standing in front of me.

I sat or leaned back during both tim solos and y&m

Yeah, I edited to clarify - I understand the beef... but it seems as if people plainly get upset that people around them are sitting. Which I don't understand.

I always like my sit down breaks during Jimi, OOMH, Mercy, Seven, etc. If anything, all those duds give me a break to sit.

I'm the same way. I remember when I went to the show that became live Trax 3. It was the third night of the weekend, was exhausted after the first two days of partying, I went by myself brought some joints and found a good spot on the lawn, sat and watched the awesomeness unfold. Honestly, it was very relaxing and one of my best concert memories.

I didn't care that she was sitting down, I just thought it was hilarious that she was on her phone playing games for one of Dave's best songs.

I sat down myself for a few songs at Blossom (i.e. WAYG, OOMH).

I know people around here are sick of Jimi because they play it a lot, but to go so far as to call it a dud is just stupid. You may be sick of it, but it's an incredible song off of an incredible album whose performance always delivers. "Songs you don't want to hear" and "duds" are very different things.

Agreed - it's kept the jam section the same where a lot of others really haven't. One of my favourites to see live. I'd take it at most shows

I agree. I have never heard Jimi called a "dud" before. I get being frustrated at a song being played so much (for me, it was Two Step), but to call a fantastic tune a dud is nuts!

Also, let Dave play some tunes he really enjoys playing. He clearly loves to play Jimi, so let him have it!

Also, I love Seven and I don't care what you all think!
