i'll say this about LA, got to spend one Sunday at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel Pool. friend was dating some arab chick that was flushed with cash, she was staying there and implored us to put everything on her tab.

we're talking vodka tonics, club sandwiches, and french fries all day long. passed out on a chair with my ipod headphones in listening to Pet Sounds. woke up to a girl who was a real looker handing me a massive bottle of Evian, she sat next to me and read her favorite parts from Hemingway's "The Sun Also Rises" while i sipped the water. she took the bottle away when i was halfway finished and i never saw her again.

Gulf News asked Dave if the end of DMB is in sight:

"God, I hope so," he replied, laughing. "I think about it, not infrequently. I've thought about it for a long time. There's times when I think I should be doing something else, I should be courageous and I should challenge myself. But it's also a challenge to keep writing for a group. There's something magical in this group of people that I assembled and that makes me feel grateful. ... I don't feel any obligation to longevity, but I also don't want to seem ungrateful."
