Ok so I was talking to a few co-workers yesterday about really good fast food joints, and surprisingly enough, 5/5 people I asked had never even heard of portillos.


I was even more surprised because we are in IL....... so like wtf?


Is this only a Chicago thing??!?!


If so, the rest of America is missing out hardcore.

    Every single person going to the Chicago shows should stop at Portillos and get something other than beef. Get a burger or sausage or hot dog meal, then a different day go to Al's and get a beef.

    Portillos is awesome, but yes, as far as I know it's only Chicago and its suburbs.

    Barnelli's, its Italian counterpart, is also fucking awesome.

    Normally, I don't like ridged style french fries, but Portillos is a major exception. They are always served fresh, super hot, and are salted perfectly. Might be the best fries in Chicago.

    portillos is delicious. there aren't that many in my area (elgin), but if we're near one around meal time, we will hit it up. pretty sure they're building one around here, though, which is going to be awesome.

    but yeah, as for the thread, pretty sure it's only chicago/burbs.

    Fuck yeah, Portillos is fantastic. People outside of the Chicago area don't know what they're missing.

    Kinda off topic, but has anyone tried Gene and Judes before? It's a small hot dog stop in River Grove. My friend and I used to stop there after Cubs games. Probably the best dogs in IL
