Re: Your 2017 Concerts

Always conflicts, but I will be pissed if Gorillaz v. Ryan Adams is an issue since those are top 2 on the bill for me. Would need perfect scheduling for those 3 to fit in one day, since they would probably all be playing after 6.

Yea all 3 is not gonna happen. Just hoping for 2.

Hopefully Head and the Heart and/or Ryan Adams do aftershows. If both do, I'll skip the festival altogether.

I think I'm gonna do Sound on Sound fest this year.

I've got the same attitude headed into Outside Lands in August.

Gorillaz, A Tribe Called Quest and Fleet Foxes are all scheduled on day one. I'd love to see all three, but I'm not holding my breath.

I think OSL has fewer stages than ACL, though, so maybe there's hope yet.

He was great. I wasn't sure what to expect since he has a lot of angry/sad bastard songs, but he was excellent. Helluva stage presence and the Bad Seeds are so solid behind him.

And Cave was clever. He said some funny stuff. When they came back from the encore break, people had lit the torches on their phones.

"That's never happened to us before. I don't know whether that says more about us ... or more about you, Berkeley. You made me feel like the singer from Coldplay. ... It felt fucking great!"

Joe Walsh was....well, it was cool to say I've seen him. He's never been a good singer but he was awful. His guitar skills seemed to be not as tight as I remember seeing him with the Eagles in 2009. It was almost like he doesn't practice or has arthritis or something. His other guitarist took most of the solos. I'm a really big Joe Walsh fan (sometimes more than I care to admit) and I was pretty bummed by his performance.

That said, Joe was pretty funny. He had some really great banter between songs.
Do you know when Petty started? And when the opener started? I'm getting Chris Stapleton instead of Joe Walsh, but want to make sure I make it on time to see his full set.

    Thanks!

I wanna say Joe Walsh came out around 7/7:30. It was whatever the ticket said the start time was. Joe played for about an hour and Tom Petty came out 8:45/9 maybe.

Tears was better than Hall & Oates IMO. Loved their Creep cover.

Mostly it was due to the sound system, the levels were out of whack and lots of feedback coming through the stack, and I was sitting in a good spot for sound in the arena. I dont know if they were having issues but it was way too loud all night but I had trouble hearing Hall sing/speak.

Missed the last St. Paul & The Broken Bones show in Raleigh. Totally regret it.

Anyone in this thread go to Philly N1 and get the cool Dave and Tim baseball cards they gave out?

I missed them the first night, but grabbed a few the second night.

If anyone has the card from N1 I'd be happy to trade 2 N2 cards for it!!!

I have missed them a few times in Nashville, thankful for Live on the Green, free annual festival at the end of the summer. Finally a chance to see them.

I'm seeing Dispatch and Guster tonight at Northerly Island. Anybody catch them this tour? I've never seen either of them live, but am looking forward to jumping in a time machine back to college.
