I am really hopping that Phil is with us for a while longer.

I am lucky enough to have seen Phil Lesh & Friends over here on the east cost. 2006 PNC with Trey, Mike and the Duo was one of my favorite concerts I have been to. Really loved Joan on the vocals for songs like Sugaree.

All that said, I would love to see Phil Lesh in a local small venue like Terrapin Crossroads. Such a cool idea for music.

I hope he is too! That's spectacular you've experienced the magic of Phil already, so you know how it feels.

The whole idea of Terrapin and the accessibility of it is nuts. I found myself saying how are there not thousands of people here while Phil plays for free. He is right there only feet away and it's not even packed. Maybe only 100 or more people. You can walk around and dance. I guess it is normal for them out there, since Phil is there on almost a weekly basis.

Just got a lawn ticket for tonight at Blossom. Never listened to a Dead show before, but the weather is awesome and I feel like chilling and listening to some music. No idea at all what to expect, but I am looking forward to it.

Johns vocals on black muddy river are stunning.

That second set was some of the best stuff I've heard from this group

There's not a dry pair of panties in the venue during/after Black Muddy River. Couldn't believe they actually played it last year.

I'm hearing the Wharf Rat was good. Can anyone confirm?

    Edit: Black Throated Wind. Nice!

Glad Blossom got a great show last night. A lot of people were concerned that they would hold back for Chicago.

Also, Wharf Rat was okay, though not my favorite version I have heard. I wouldn't call it the highlight of the show by any means. I will give the entire show a listen at some point today!

That Truckin from last night is jazzy as fuck! I love it. Bobby kind of cut it short because Mayer was feeling it.

Also, some good stuff from Hornsby in this Dew.

I'm making an effort to do a deep dive into later era Dead. If you have any favorite later era shows beyond the obvious Nassaus, MSG, and Alpine shows, post them!

Winterland 12-31-78 (really 79 since the show started after midnight) has to be one of, if not my favorite show. The band is on fire all night! Was listening to the Dark Star->Other one->Dark Star, Wharf Rat, St. Stephen from that show last night. So amazing.

I love how the crowd melts when they break out Dark Star for the first time since 1974!

Phil just kills it on Bass for that transition in to The Other One.
