Excellent MBB! That was after a Maine coast brewery tour with the following brews:

Stopped for lunch and had an Allagash White.

Four

Stopped at Old Orchard Beach on the way home for Pier Fries and pizza... Washed that down with a Goose Island IPA.

22 different beers! Excellent day with the wife!

Yeah it was a great time!

My favorites:
Assasssin, Cantillon Geuze, Upland Vinosynth White, BA Speedway, Matt, BA Jones Dog, BA The Murderous, BA Sexual Chocolate, and Casey Saison.

We also had a 2 year old can of Heady Topper. It was actually still pretty damn good! Retained WAY more hop character than I would have anticipated.

Also blended a couple Head Hunters with Bonehead Reds, very good!

I have to say Casey made Anna seem like your average saison.

Got habanero and grapefruit sculpins this weekend, bottles. Like grapefruit infinitely more, regular cans are still my favorite though.

My cousin is saving me a Heady Topper for her housewarming party this coming Saturday. Can't wait.

Nice! They make such great beer. Thanks to CBC, I was able to grab one of those bottles as well in Portland last week.

Wow, drank so many great ipa's over the weekend....

Maine Lunch (32 oz growler), Maine Another One (bottled 4/10), DC Brau On The Wings of Armageddon (canned 4/3), DC Brau/Oskar Blues Smells Like Freedom, Stone Enjoy By 420, Ballast Point Sculpin (fresh cans!).

Also got a growler of Maine A Tiny Beautiful Something, which I really enjoyed, and I typically don't like low abv pale ales and/or session ipa's. So much great beer this weekend....now I gotta exercise all week so I can do it all over again next weekend....vicious cycle!

I'm not opposed to people shipping to their target when they are ready to do so I guess.....but I would say that IF you receive a box before you have sent one, that all the rules still apply...meaning you organize and ship within 14 days of receiving.

But would like to hear other peoples thoughts. I like how we have historically done it....but with the challenge being finding beers that less than a month old at time of shipping it might make sense to allow people to ship when they are ready....

I typically like the randomness of the original mbb plan. I do think this time might be a little tougher. Even buying beer to send the box out was a little challenging and I knew when I was sending. Might be tougher to get fresh beer randomly. For this round I am indifferent though again I also like how we've historically done it.

I like the original rules as well, although I'd be up for making an exception for Craig this time to make sure his recipient gets beer as fresh as possible.

my concern here is that you've gotten beer together for the box, which means you are in possession of stupid fresh hoppy beer. If you are OK with drinking that beer and reorganizing for your time to ship then lets do that. I don't want you to have to sit on the beer you bought and have it be 1-3 months old by the time you have to ship.....if that makes sense.
