Thank you freddy!!! I was able to book it around 430 pm eastern time yesterday incase anyone is wondering. I know its within walking distance so the next question is are there a lot of bars and places on the walk over to jpj? Or is it opposite of the main street area. I need to get a gus burger :drool

It's walkable, but it's not the most comfortable walk. You're looking at 15-20 minutes down a major highway where it's not all sidewalked. It's off of 29, completely opposite way from White Spot and the rest of UVA/downtown. You pass a Buffalo Wild Wings and a Brixx Pizza (not really a bar, but a decent beer selection) on the way. That's all I can think of as far as bars between that hotel and JPJ. Hope this helps.

thanks for the info! hows the cab scene in cville? wouldn't mind dropping 10 to get a ride over instead lol.

You'll have to call ahead and schedule one, but the option is there for sure.

I booked a room here too. They offer a free shuttle to/from campus until 11pm. Good going to the show, on the way back could be a different story.

Definitely worth just getting a cab if you stay out there. Not a fun walk!

I stayed here for the 2010 shows, and it's a great place. Clean, freee breakfast in the a.m...etc.... I originally thoought, too, that we could walk to JPJ - but as Barbogast said - it's a long walk on a very busy highway. Not really an easy walk. Cabs weren't a problem though - just call ahead first. I think it was @ $11 each way - and if there are a bunch of you to split a cab - even better. After the show there were cabs hanging out by the Econo-Lodge and around the arena so it was easy to get one for the ride home. Also - the traffic on that highway before the show gets bad, so don't wait till the last minute to call the cab... Just my .02. Enjoy..!

Good point. You could also walk a couple of block down (toward the hotel) to the mall and grab a bite to eat while waiting for a cab to pick you up there.

Tip: If you eat at the McDonald's, beware of poster thieves!
