It was a long time coming but I finally saw my first show on Friday. It was POURING rain before the show for an hour and a half straight but finally stopped about 20 minutes before they took the stage. When the rain stopped, a HUGE rainbow appeared over the amphitheatre and it was a real sign of what was to come. Radiohead did not disappoint one bit, the performances of the songs were stellar! Better that expected for sure! I can't even really pinpoint any highlights because it was just so good from the opening song. However, I'd put the 1st encore against any other encore on the tour! MINDBLOWING! Check it out:

I wish they were playing Let Down this year.

I saw them in Mansfield, I wish I had a radiohead concert to go to every single night. For free though.

get In Rainbows and (if you're more of a fan of they're "electronic" songs) Kid A, then (if you like Kid A) get Hail to the Thief and Amnesiac, or if you like the straight rock songs more go for The Bends. either way you will probably end up getting all of them since they're all brilliant.

I see these setlists and I never see No Surprises. I'm not a guy who usually gets all pissed that I don't hear a song at a show...but not hearing No Surprises would make me come pretty close.

well I had plans with some work buddies to see a musical too.

Don't give me shit though! I saw them in their opener in West Palm Beach by myself, trust me that wasn't the real reason I didn't go to the toronto show!

Was no one else at Outside Lands? I was right at the side of the back of the soundstage tent and wow -- I've never seen any show in such a crowded environment in my life.

The silence of the crowd during the softer songs is like nothing I've ever experienced either. (It was my first show.)

I personally don't see how songs like Fake Plastic, Let Down, Reckoner, Kid A, and National Anthem even come close.

    Top 5.

but I mean, it's all personal taste. more often than not I find myself thinking There, There is the epitome of Radiohead. that's a tough one to pin though cuz their sound carries so many layers and styles throughout the albums. I see a lot of people in here saying "if you're more into X sound then you'll like X album more" and that kind of sums up Radiohead to me.

    exactly what i'm talking about.

Kid A is a top 3 song for me, National anthem is top 5. Lately Reckoner has been 1 on my list but yea...all for personal reasons. If you don't like a certain style of music (the electronic stuff comes to mind most) then you're probably not going to like songs like Kid A. How you wouldn't like the National Anthem is tough for me to fathom though

kid a i think is hard to put in the top 5 with the electronic lyrics

but i think its reasonable to put paranoid android, national anthem and fake plastic trees in there

Oh I think Nat'l Anthem is a damn, damn good song, but I don't know about top 5.

but i think its reasonable to put paranoid android, national anthem and fake plastic trees in there
I really don't see what's special about Fake Plastic. Quien sabe, como dicen los hispanohablantes.

My issue with OKC: for me, Let Down is just okay, Karma Police doesn't do much, and Fitter Happier IMO is just stupid.

Feel free to rip me apart.

    The new Dead Air Space:

    Thu, 28 August
    Santa Barbara

Hello! To celebrate the end of a brilliant tour, we're going to webcast the last show here in America. We'll be playing live in Santa Barbara, at the Bowl. It's one of our favourite places to play; I think we've ended tours there before, once even playing a cover of ' cinnamon girl '. It's not too big, in fact it's very intimate, a small arena with a dirt floor, set in pretty countryside. It should be a special night, for lots of reasons, and we're going to try and share as much of it as we can on the webcast. Nigel, our producer, will be helping out getting it to you, so if it goes wrong....It's live!

Thank you so much to everyone who's come and seen us this year; it has truly been the most special and exciting tour for all of us.

    Webcast details to follow...

    x
    Colin

Don't know if this has been discussed, but i know a lot of people were wondering why the two tracks on the IR bonus disc were titled MKI and MKII.
    Here's the answer, second Paragraph.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mellotron

Jonny uses the Mellotron quite a bit along with a lot of other musicians today.

I did not know that. The mellotron is quite a cool instrument.

Have you heard the Outside Lands recording yet?
