Good morning! I'm just waiting on the Bonnaroo stream to start. I wish I was on the farm, but this will have to do!

And I can't wait to watch the setlist from SPAC tonight.

Morning! I just booked my slight to SFO for the weekend after gorge... visiting friends and hopefully making it to Shoreline! I'm in the market for a shoreline ticket(s) and could possibly trade something at Gorge for them. If anyone is looking??

Hey guys, I'm heading to the West Palm Beach shows (which is suppose to be my summer trip) and couldn't stand it and bought a plane ticket for the Gorge. I was there last year and had a blast. I am now in need of some tickets for the three nights... looks like just one for each show. Please let me know if y'all know of any. The preferred lawn were great in Houston and Dallas but I'll take anything. Thanks and Best.

Have you been to Shoreline before? One of my faves. And if you're into food at all might I suggest

    http://www.nopalitosf.com/

for a lunch?! The food is amazing, the drinks are potent and tasty, and the service is incredible.

    Oh yea
Board of Directors Meeting at my house for an Amateur Astronomy event that we put on in the mountains north of Ellensburg every year for 700 people.

I hope the two kegs of beer I have ready will last through the after meeting party. There are only ten of us. I do have eight more beers in fermenting vessels but they aren't ready for carbonation yet Yea, I know. Poor planing on my part. At least they will be ready for the 10 day camping trip for the event.

Lawn (GA) tickets are still available at LN/TM and instants haven't been released on WH yet. Tickets for all three should be easily obtainable.

If I send you the yarn can you knit me some socks? I picked out the yarn 2-3 years ago. I think she is up to the heal on one. She does too many baby sweaters and blankets for the Grand Nieces that interrupts the socks.

She'll even do socks for kids and won't do mine.

awwww!!! so sad!!! i've not knit socks before. they don't much interest me. i would say maybe they don't interest her either, but if others are getting socks and yours are still on the back burner, something is amiss! i say you DEMAND socks! also, maybe birth control for the baby makers, so that she's not so distracted could be effective

Think my problem is that I picked some really thin yarn (Size 0 or 1 needles)

Russ, you should meet my mom. She LOVES to knit socks. I asked for a sweater as I am tired of scarves and shawls. But her favorite is socks. She makes them for everyone. My dad has custom knit biking socks (he's an avid cyclist and she made them with this thin cashmere yarn!). She'd probably be able to whip through them in a day or two. (She's in Gig Harbor so she's local, too.)

http://www.berroco.com/316.320/318/318_frascati_pv.html That's what my mom is knitting for me right now. You can tie the ribbon high like a crop sweater or shrug, or low and it's more of a cardigan. Saw the design down in Portland (man, they have cool yarn shops and I'm not even a knitter).

    That sweater is adorable!

There are so many gorgeous yarns around--I wish I could knit.
I have a few (cough cough) unfinished projects hanging around....

    Never. Finished. One.

So I just stick with making soap.

i rebelled today and wore mine. so far, so good. there's some big scary gray clouds out there, but it really only matters for the walk from my car to my building, so i took the risk

super cute! and i agree, portland has some cool yarn shops. i'm actually planning a train ride down there with some yarny friends in september to do a mini yarn crawl of the area. lucky you to have a mom that will knit whatever you want! you get all the benefit of receiving awesome hand knits, and none of the labor!

Invest in some Chacco flops! They are super comfortable and have tons of grip. I wear mine in the snow.

    Never. Finished. One.

So I just stick with making soap.
agree on the gorgeous yarns. my wallet hates me for their existence. i'm starting to dye my own now, so that's even more fun! and also, more hating on behalf of my wallet.

soap making is fun! i did a handmade christmas last year, and my friend and i split the cost of soap and candle making supplies. we made huge batches of both, and i knit tiny snowman ornaments for everyone. also canned a bunch of pear butter. didn't buy anything 'commercial' and i do believe i will continue this tradition!

    do you have a shop?

I do. She enjoys to knit and likes making me things. I personally hate wearing socks so I'm not a good candidate for her. But I like scarves and those are fast and easy so I've received a lot of them. This is her first sweater. I just hope she doesn't hate it by the time she's about half-way through!

I love the train trip to Portland. So pretty.

oh, and Russ, my mom says "You might suggest to him that he take his wife’s unfinished sock project into the nearest knitting store (or find out which one his wife spends the most money at) and see if there might be someone locally who would like to finish the project. Maybe he can consider a trade (labor for labor) or something." (Or, figure out something to give my mom and she'll finish them, LOL)

Sorry can't do that. My wife has a store in Renton that she spends most of her money at and knits at least once or twice a week for 2-3 hours at a time. I know most of them there too.

I'll just be patient. Maybe she thinks I'll take up knitting and use those small needles. Yea, that'll happen the day she takes up brewing

I told her where this thread has gone today and she said she was going to have to sign-up and join in. What WAS I thinking

perhaps pick a different yarn? one that is more likely to be knit?
