No, you're in the majority. The majority of people that buy the game won't be buying the costumes.

But as far as making sense for the devs, it makes perfect sense. Skins on characters don't effect the physics of the gameplay at all, so you're talking maybe 3 hours of an artist's time, and 2 hours of a programmer's time, for each skin. Nearly no cost, pure profit. So even if 2% of gamers purchase the skin, it's worth it. It's the same idea for, like, avatar items and clothing and hair styles for XBL avatars. The majority of people will never pay 10 dollars to design their avatar. But maybe 5% will, so it's worth it.

The average person will most likely not by the skins. A lot of people on the Arkham City and Comicbookresources.com message boards have already expressed that they will most definitely be buying the suits. I plan on beating the game once with every skin. 8 times total. (yeah, I'm sick. I know.)

Robin and Nightwing are both more than skins, they are completely different characters. With their bundles you also get two (each character) challenge maps. Not a bad deal, at all.

I've always been a fan of skins and camos and the such. I unlocked all the alternate camos on MW2, bought all the camos in BO, and even spent actual Microsoft Points on a camo for Gears 3. They're cheap usually, minus the Gears ones that are like $35 worth for all of them which is beyond ridiculous.

I've never liked having plain weapons and always dug using the alternate costumes in fighting games like Street Fighter. Probably a wasteful purchase in reality, but if it keeps the game fresh and adds a bit of longevity to the game why not.

Anyone else pre-order from Amazon? I thought it was worth it for the $10 back, and the magazine is just a bonus for me. I don't really care about the skins.

I did it as Best Buy....$100 back for preordering 5 games...too good of a deal to pass up.

Same here! (about the playbacks) I wanna beat it once with every skin. I anticipate this game lasting me until the new year. I will still be getting U3, though. It's BF3 that's taking the back seat, for me.

Oh, I see. My bad for not backreading. Honestly, you're probably better off. Amazon has one of the weaker pre-orders. I hear K-Mart is giving out $30 gift cards/coupons and an Arkham City T-Shirt. You just have to register for some thing online first. I believe it's free though. And Wal-Mart is offering Arkham Asylum GOTY and a $10 e-gift card. Gamestops skins deal is pretty solid too.

I'm only going with Amazon because of the convenience. I have class early on Tuesday, so when I get back the game should be there waiting for me. The only problem will be going to my night class after playing for 2-3 hours.

And then I can put the $10 gift card to a new controller that I've been needing, which would probably be here by Thursday.

I got to play the demo version they had at Comic Con today. I only played around five minutes, but it was awesome. Diving down and then gliding back up is so easy and satisfying.
