Oasis unplugged is very good as well. Love Noel's voice.

For me, it's AiC, no contest.

The best episode, however, was the one that featured Stevie Ray Vaughan & Joe Satriani.

That Where Did You Sleep Last Night is otherworldly shit. Nirvana gets my vote.

I'll grant you he wouldn't have the cult following AT ALL, but I still think the band itself would have the recognition and notoriety they have (or at least a lot of it). In Utero is still a pretty bomb album.

They were one of, if not the, most popular bands out there at the time, even before he put the shotgun to his chin... I used to say the same thing, but it's patently false.

Exactly. Like I said, he/they wouldn't have the cult following with the mindless late-teenaged sheep they enjoy now, just like if Bob Marley had never smoked pot 17 year olds wouldn't have any inkling of an idea how to finish the line "baby don't worry, about a thing".

As a side, I won't say I'm glad Cobain offed himself, but if he hadn't we wouldn't have Foo Fighters.

I still think he would, just on a smaller scale like a Morrisey-type.

Also, who knows? Maybe if he stayed alive and kept making music he'd just be revered as the great songwriter he was. Their music was constantly evolving, also.

Worst thing he ever did to us.

We probably still would have gotten them, though. Nirvana broke up before Kurt killed himself (although they probably would have gotten back together right after Kurt cleaned himself up), and Kurt apparently hated working with Dave anyway, so upon reforming they very may well have gone with another drummer and Dave could have made his further millions with that other band.

Listening to this right now (his voice and that guitar though), already checked off AIC earlier, Nirvana is coming up next.

    All three are just phenomenal.

Clapton's Unplugged performance of Tears In Heaven alone puts it ahead of the other two in my book.

A bit, but is was only 830. After that bowie song I fell asleep and woke up with maybe 15 minutes left.

I'm guessing that the entire Unplugged series would put you to sleep if you are tired. They are supposed to be mellow, the Nirvana one is one of the least mellow.

But by who? I just think saying something is 'universally agreed upon' is a really bold, broad statement. There are very few things that are universally agreed upon.

Not saying it's not a great performance or that lots of people don't think it's great, but saying that the entire world unanimously agrees that it's the single greatest live performance ever is pushing it.
