    i'm sure you'd think so.

they players have tons of heart. they just happen to get paid a lot for it.

it is true that we complain alot about the yankee's money, even when we have more money than alot of other teams. But look at the spread, the Yankees have almost $100 million more in payroll than we do. Thats alot of freakin money. The difference between the sox and the next lower is like $10 million. See the difference

it doesn't matter though. money doesn't make players good. just because someone gets paid 10 mil more than a red sox player, doesn't mean he can hit off pedro.

Would I suddenly become a Derek Jeter fan if he were to be traded to the Sox? No. I prefer playing over posing for the cameras. That being said, they may have heart, but it's easy to have heart when Steinbrener is signing your paychecks.

if you get paid to play sports and you can't have extreme amounts of heart there is something seriously wrong.

yankees players have all the heart for the game. they know the history, they run out every grounder, they train just as much as any other team.
go watch a game in NY and you'll see jeter/giambi/rodriguez/and Co. run out every single play every at bat.
if there's a chance that they don't- somebody else will likely get on their case.

as far as posing for cameras and the media, that's part of playing in new york.

: horrible horrible game tonight. how is it possible that they went 9-1 in games I attended last year, and are now 0-3 in ones I see this year? and i thought with pedro on the mound this unpleasant personal streak would come to an end. now my own family's telling me to stay away from fenway
the only cool thing about tonight was hearing tripping billies played between the 7th and 8th...first time I ever heard dmb at fenway. love it when my obsessions overlap (as my sig indicates).

i was at the game. 26th row behind home plate. I was visiting Seattle for the week.... and I must say that was an incredible game. When they put Edgar in to pinch hit.... I could see it coming. What a game.

Yeah, this season's starting to get embarrasing. I was in the fens playing frisbee during the game, and it was probably more satisfying than going to see them lose to yet another sub-par team.

And here we go again. If we can't make a comeback, or at the very least win the second game tonight I really don't know what I'll do with myself.

but even so, I'll probably still spend hours in line for standing room only tickets this weekend against the Yanks...I lose all self restraint when the Sox are involved.

    Pick me up some tix!

No seriously, if you were gonna wait in line for hours and hours I'd be more than happy to come meet you right when the box office opens and give you money to grab some for me too.

would if I could, but there's a 2 ticket per person limit for Yankees games. But if you feel like waiting in line, let me know...the more the merrier

Hey, I never claimed that...the Sox are certainly not living up to their potential and I'm not going to argue the money point when we have the second hightest payroll in the majors (although admittedly, the difference between $185 and $120 million, or whatever the final numbers came to, is fairly substantial). It's just hard to watch a team with so much talent play like this...reminds me a bit of the 2002 Sox (7 allstars, Pedro and Lowe with amazing seasons, and a major flop).

HELL YEAH!! THAT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!! I was watching the whole time and when Varitek popped Gay-Rod in the mouth I was sreaming. Kapler, Ortiz and Nixon tag-teaming on Sturtze was sweet too.
Oh yeah, WE WON, WHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Rivera has 5 blown saves at fenway, the most of anyplace he's been. I thought for sure we were done for. I hope this will give them the kick in the A$$ that they needed. If they make the playoffs this will no doubt be talked about as the game that turned the season around.
