This venue needs a kick in the ass. Had been getting the short end of the Socal run in recent years.

Agreed. I enjoyed the show last year, but Irvine was definitely the better out of the two.

Wife and I are missing our local Texas shows, but decided to do the southern Cali run. Super pumped, don't know anything about these two venues. Crowd usually good? How are Warehouse tickets usually?

Heading there this year after missing last year's show. Is the back way still the best way in/out? It worked out pretty well for us in 2012.

There will ALWAYS be traffic headed south on Friday afternoon towards Chula. You really need to be into San Diego County by 3:00 PM if you want to be safe.

Yes, the back way is still the best way to the venue. I will dig up the directions and post them. It will really save you a lot of time.

Here is the "back way" in. I just considered everyone was coming from downtown. The key is to use the 5 and not the 805. As well, follow the directions to go down the 905, which runs along the border (sort of). This should really help cut down on time coming and going. You can thank me at the show, see you there!

My pleasure. Anyway I can help when it comes to traffic. Too bad a lot of people don't heed the warnings of going the 805 route. So much easier going the 5, then skirting along the 905 and going in the back way. You're welcome!!

Our Mexican food is just a slight bit better than the "Run For the Border" place, just a bit.

I don't know if that's necessarily a bad thing. The tailgating is the best in the general lots, and if I'm not mistaken, the preferred parking is farther from the one exit from all the lots, and so it would perhaps take considerably longer to get out after the show.

The pit at Chula is huge. And you won't have hundreds of people lining up for hours, it usually takes awhile to fill up.

They have VIP parking that is on the east side of the venue. You can buy them when tickets go on sale to the public thru ticketmaster and they are right next to the exits. you'll get out quick if you park there.

Thanks for the info. I've never been to Chula before. I'm from Phoenix, so I usually have gone to the Los Angeles shows (Hollywood Bowl, Greek Staples)...but there wasn't any LA shoes last year. So I'm doing Chula and Irvine (groan) this year.

But the parking you get through Warehouse is the East VIP lot which is close to the main entrance? I know where that is, and it's definitely far superior.
