Tickets: Usually around 200-250 for the weekend

Airfare: I got mine roundtrip from Chicago to Sea/Tac for 380 last year, you know its going to be Labor Day Weekend so just keep an eye out for good deals throughout the year

Camping: With Toupstown you get transportation and camping for $85, I think the Gorge campground was like $75 or so for the weekend

Transportation: If you rent a car just keep an eye out for the best deals, most small cars were around $150-200 for the 6 days I was out there.

Beer/Food: Really just depends on how much you plan on eating/drinking, beers were $11 inside the venue, you can only buy hard liquor at state run stores because of Washington laws and there really aren't any stores around the Gorge so if you camp make sure you stock up for the whole weekend

You should probably plan on spending around $1000 (costs can obviously be split if you go with a group), I think I was right around there last year, like I said you know it's going to be Labor Day Weekend so you have plenty of time to scope out the best deals and plan accordingly

Concert tix can be done on the cheap if its not the Caravan. I believe I got my lawn seats for like 55 or so for lawn. And you can have A LOT of fun on the lawn. Preferred were like 85. Correct me if I am wrong. I can't remember.

If you do the toupstown bus experience and purchase naty light and black velvet OUTSIDE of WA. Then its wicked cheap!! Make sure you save money for a wild burger and garlic fries.

Throw in some serious Southwest flights and you finish up a trip under a grand. That's how I have done it over the last couple of years. And some serious help with smokin deals on tix for the shows.

I am basically agreeing with Jason above. Just with my twist on it.

by gorge time next year you'll be able to buy alcohol at safeway, and costco (any place bigger than 10,000 sq ft.). we just passed a bill allowing private sales, closing down all state run stores. goes into affect june 1, 2012.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, maybe that means BevMo will open in WA. I heart BevMo. Handle of Stoli $21.99 ftw! And Costco usually has really good deals on booze.

i really hope BevMo moves up here...i miss the shit out of that store! Prices probably won't be much better, we still tax the shit out of alcohol here, but there will be lots more places to buy it.

I'd love some Umphreys, but I find it really strange to watch their set when it's still light outside. I'd take Trombone Shorty.... or Galactic. So much good music out there right now.

i'd be cool with UM...but yeah, i've never seen them outside, so that on top of it being light out would be weird. i'd be ok with a return of YMSB, they always bring a good time.

I have seen them a couple of times outside... the best being at Red Rocks cuz the lasers bounce off the Rocks and make for a great light show. I'm on a serious UM kick right now, but I'll take any solid opener. In fact, I am pretty sure I'm hitting the Seattle show then heading down to Portland in March.

That is GREAT news!! More places to buy from but I'm pretty sure we are going to drive this year so if that's the case I'm sure we'll be down with bringing booze from BevMo/Costco in Cali. Send me your cash and order and we'll deliver!

I completely agree with Jason and Zac about costs for Gorge. You can go pretty cheap if you plan ahead, just like anything else in life. Hook up with friends to share costs such as food and camp supplies and you have have an amazing 5 or so days at Gorge for a great price. Start saving now!

I didnt have the opportunity to go last year, had I, I'm not sure I would have spent the money for a caravan. Unfortunately I have a feeling the gorge will most likely see Caravan type weekends from here on out.

I don't mind it cause we would have a different opener every night. We can still hang at the pool all day and get drunkeder.

I would love this years last act on the main stage before DMB to open the shows next year, John Butler Trio on Friday, The Roots on Saturday and Dispatch on Sunday. I'd call that a successful weekend!

I'm finally doing it this year. I will most likely be going solo and coming from NY. I will be in search of some Ant buddies.

Oooooh yes! A different opener each night would rock.

The only reason I loved the Caravan setup so much was the opportunity for front-row through the GA...yes, it was crazy, and yes, I sat in line or sat at the front for more time than I actually watched music, but it was worth it to see the band from 10 feet away. What would really be awesome is if it's just DMB next year, but they still do a little GA section at the front...it would be super hard to get tickets though...oh what am I saying, I'll be there no matter what
