I was in a bar on the 4th, and a (presumably) homeless African American guy came up to me and asked me if I could buy him a drink. For whatever reason, at that moment, the first verse of the 7/16/04 Crazy Easy popped in my head and I got him a gin & juice (not even lying, that's what he ordered
). Bartender and a couple patrons gave me dirty looks, but I sat there with Wilbur for a little while and talked with him just to keep him company. Probably made his night. So, thank you, Dave for inspiring good things to happen 11 years later.
Quote:
Oh said the man
sittin' at the bar
lookin' rough to the man next to him
Saying, "Brother could you spare a dime?
Do you have the time?
Maybe you could buy me a drink
Things ain't rollin' so well..."
"Oh, get out my face"
you know that's what he said
and he turned his back on the boy, little soul
But don't you know the table could be turned
and he could be the one
standing there beggin' for work
