If they're going to waste everyone's time with crap like Take Me To Tomorrow, Oh, LRB, etc then they better be playing 25 songs a night.

Would gladly pay the price of admission to see that. Too bad the electric set would be coming next.

I do. It's not a song that's on my list of tunes I'm looking for at a show, but I like it. I think Dave does a great job with it solo and I also enjoyed the full band version. Would I take a DMB song in it's place? Absolutely. But if I have to see a cover song I'd take that over Thank You, Burning Down the House or Runnin' Down a Dream. I just like that they made it their own the way they did with Long Black Veil.

Saturday didn't start with a bang, but they eased into the night and I really dug that. I don't think they have to start off each night with Two Step or Billies. It's an "acoustic" set so why not start off with a Dave solo song, then Dave and Tim and then the band?

To each their own, but it worked for me and we had a blast. Just a different way of seeing the band.

I wish Dave didn't just play "tiny" songs(little red bird, oh, beachball) to start the acoustic set. I'd love to see him try more songs like AATW, Grey Street, Bartender solo.

Fair enough. I can definitely agree that it would be cool to see him play something other than the same 3-4 solo songs. I do wonder about stuff like that. I play and write music myself and I just can't imagine wanting to play the same few songs over and over again. Doesn't ruin the show for me, but it would be cool to see him bust out a solo acoustic Last Stop, Drive In Drive Out or Busted Stuff. I'd rather see those full band, but if they're not going to play them, why not?

I don't really have any problems with it either... It's the electric set that is more troublesome

The acoustic set this year >>>> Last year.

last year's acoustic sets were just consistently blah for me, and even listening to some of them on tape doesn't seem to change my mind much. This year however sounds much improved, both on paper and listening to them on tape. Excited to see how it plays out like in Charlotte and Tampa in July.

This gets brought up once in a while and I completely agree as a songwriter and player of songs myself. I'm always trying find new ways to connect, or surprise people. He's become complacent with what he likes, and doesn't seem to care too much about it, although he never really has if you look back at his behavior and comments over the years.

I've listened to quite a few of the tapes from 2014 and 2015 and 2 or 3 of my absolute favorite acoustic sets have been in 2015, and that's coming from a much smaller sample.

look at the 5-20 and 6-3 shows for example. I don't think any of the 2014 acoustic sets touch those.

After seeing tonight's acoustic set, the band could take quite a few lessons from the many opening acts they've had over the years and pick up the pace. I love Snow Outside too but that 5 song run is a snooze fest. It's like a dinner party but not so serious.

it's definitely more reminiscent of the acoustic sets last year. they've been doing more mixing it up this year.

really liking FTWII acoustic for example. works perfectly acoustic, moving Tim to what he does best, and it mixes in some upbeat music to the typically subdued acoustic songs

I'd take FTWII opening the acoustic over LRB/OH any day. Catchy, people are familiar with it, and it gets people dancing to burn off all that anxiety cause their favorite band just got on stage. Unless they're letting in hammocks this year or there's a new napping section in the lawn. Then they can carry on.

Amazing work, as always. Thanks, Chad! I'd consider the acoustic sets a success compared to what I thought would happen this year. Time will tell, but hopefully we'll see some more mix.
