I came over from Nancies.org... that website is still up (or was about a year ago) but I don't think it's been updated in years.

Then as soon as we started ants "We" shut down the ML according to the rumors, and suddenly it was back a day or three later with a different name.

in no way did we shut down the ML to start Ants. We would have continued the ML if Pete would've let us, basically adding in all the cool shit we did here when we started. But he didn't.

I can vouch for these guys, they speak the truth. While he had good intentions, as Matt said, he was very apathetic around the year 2000, and practically disappeared from the forums (unless he was just lurking) in 2001. I wonder what he is up to these days...

Also, IIRC, I helped introduce Matt and Jake to each other (although they probably knew of each other from DMBML, as both were regulars...Jake's username used to be something related to "SOCCER", I can't remember exactly, and I think Matt went by "Yetdog") and I exhorted that they create a new website that could use Jake's massive, detailed database of setlists and Matt's coding expertise. I believe the website they ended up creating was... antsmarching.org (hence why I am member #2).

Holy shit! I honestly remember that Soccer name and didn't place it with Jake. Matt I knew.

It's been over 13 years. That's fucking nuts.

Ha - This thread looks like it could have been made in 2015 as much as 2002.

I really don't remember what brought me here in 2002. I just came across my old KevinTH username though. Switching over from KevinTH5.

Haven't thought about the Bridge in a long time. I used to love that site. I remember that site having a green background and a picture of Dave singing at the top. I think I was on both sites at the same time. I hit Nancies up here and there, but I don't think I was a member. I remember getting an IM from a friend of mine on AIM with a link to Weekly Dave Speak to hear the first You Never Know ever. So I'm sure I frequented that from time to time back then. I think it was downloading shows that brought me here.

Man this thread brought back some memories. 2002'er here as well. I had a January 02 username and then created a new one a few months after that after a tape trading incident. I posted with that one for a few years and then created this one after a year or two of being away. I remember all those old sites. DMBML, the bridge, amidreaming.org, nancies.org. I remember the Eric w/ an H username and I remember a guy with the user name Cole who posted a ton here.

came over from nancies. lost my login years ago. i guess i'm going through a quarter life crisis, because i've recently become interested in DMB again.

My friend and I used to post videos that we said were from Boyd and it would just be him singing "la la la hey" out of tune. This was back in 02 so it required people to actually download a video and watch it. we were like 14 and thought it was hilarious. people got really mad.

I also like how there is a "New Album" thread with this as the fan's proposed tracklist:

    "1. Sweet Up and Down
    2. Granny
    3.Get in Line
    4.*New Song*
    5.JTR
    6.Build You a House
    7.#40
    8.*New Song*
    9.Gravedigger
    10.*New Song*
    11. Spotlight
    12.Deed is Done
    (outro Loving Wings)"

I swear, some fans are STILL waiting for most of these songs to show on the next album...
This proposed track listing is too real. It's uncannily similar to my first post here in 2006 and in 2015 most of these tunes still appear on dream albums. Woof.

Was an original nancie myself. Still have my Love! Baby! shirt with nancies.org on the back. Anyone else get one of those? Loved the B&P days. Actually felt more connected to folks I traded with. Those days are gone much like standing in line hours before ticket releases so the record store could do the lottery and buy tickets. ahhh....being old.

I was browsing for posts from my buddy and found this one. I had no idea he joined Ants in 2002, he definitely got the jump on me.

The guy who made this post, Bobby, was my best friend for over 20 years, ever since we were in middle school. I found out last night that he passed away this week. The last time I talked to him was on Saturday and we were talking about new DMB venues we wanted to go to next summer.

He was the one who got me into the band. I was a Blues Traveler fan and he was a DMB fan. He introduced me to WWYS in the late 90's because it had John Popper on it and that began my DMB fandom. Of my 39 shows, he went to 19 of them with me.

He didn't post here much but he told me he checked in all the time for rumors and news and whatnot. He was always spoke fondly of AntsMarching even though he wasn't active.
