i know that this is not from the big whiskey sessions, but rather the batson sessions and that its a studio recording playing through an iem for a soundcheck.

I think you missed the point.

    If you go here http://www.antsmarching.org/tour/Vie...hp?ShowID=4096

AM.org can accurately show what was and was not recorded during the BW sessions.

    that's accurate?

    sweet up & down 4
    loving wings 1
    sister 1
    shotgun 1

happen to be the ONLY songs leftover, meaning there were NO new b-sides? do you remember the scenes from big whiskey pt. 2 vid when there's a song that sounds like pig? that was a new b-side that was recorded, where is it on the list? do you remember fuse doc pt. 4 when we watch them record sugar will? that isn't on the list.

where did this list that says they recorded Sweet Up & Down 4 times come from anyway?

    anyway, i won't buy that that's "accurate"

    I'm just citing ants

And I think that the recording of Sugar Will was not at the same time as the others. That is just a guess though.

If you consider everything after the Stand Up Sessions the Big Whiskey Sessions then yes it was from those sessions. But it was recorded in 06 not within the last year.

i mean my problem with the list is that i pretty much could have written myself. the only that i would have left off that they included was "sweet up & down 4"

i'd love to know where this tidbit came from.

but i'd also ASSUME there were a few other things recorded, particularly Idea Of You.

and to me, sugar will wasn't late enough to be considered a different session.

and there were at least two other songs that didn't make big whiskey. the pig song and the song (or songs) from the 3/08 video. i realize part of the "pace" ended up in time bomb, but you can hear lyrics back in that video, and they certainly aren't any part of time bomb that we know. so i'm guessing a different song was chopped and they decided to use part of the horn section for time bomb. but i obviously have no idea.

so basically, there list is pretty obvious to me, but needs a few additions. hopefully an ep will help us work out what additions are necessary.

My point was you did not come up with that info on your own, you regurgiated it from this site. Happens all the time.

and we havent completed out session notes yet, only the stuff we can confirm.

sugar will from the fuse doc. was from this may, so it wouldn't be on those sessions that ants has gathered. and perhaps ants could cite where it gets its info from, how the hell do you know what happened in the studio? Not that I think its false info, its certainly the truth, but i wouldn't mind knowing how you got it.

i'm just curious about the 4 playings of Sweet Up & Down

why did that song take 4 tries, then not even make the record, and they only needed one performance each of all the songs on the record?

It was probably a warm up because this album wasn't recorded in 1 day they probably warmed up with it before they started recording.

Just got through all 4 parts of the Fuse documentary. Why would Dave record Sugar Will in May of 2009 ?

It's widely thought that the studio Break Free that we've heard was recorded with Batson before Rob Cavallo, but I don't know if any of us know which specific sessions that particular version is from.

And I agree.. it's not any good.

Break Free would easily be the worst song on BWGGK so I am glad it didn't make the cut.
