The Dave Matthews TRIBUTE Band

Has anyone else seen these guys? We saw them Saturday night and it was old school heaven. The post everyday song they played was in fact Everyday with a #36 intro and Outro. they even played the Lillywhite versions of FishTender. They're from Tennessee or Kentucky but they were excellent. They incorporated the jams with the old five piece sound and
Pulled it off amazingly.

I've seen videos of them. They're okay, but the singer is a bit annoying.

I've played drums with them quite a few times. Fun times and great setlists. Bus driver Jerry came to our last show in Little Rock and I talked with him a bit. Love playing with the guys and using my Carter replica kit!

Yeah that kit was a direct replica in the best sense of the word. Glad you had a good experience with them. I approached the singer at the end of the show smd he was kind of douchey when i complimented him on he accurately he played satellite and just brushed me off. I thought I could open the
Guitarist to guitarist dialogue but nope he didn't want anything to do with it.

They've come through here before and can't recall which of the cover bands I saw about 10 years back; regardless I just can't get into them. Maybe one day way down the line when the guys are well beyond performing but not right now, even if they put together fantasy set lists.

Here's a gig I played with them in Baton Rouge back when Carter was using the red/black Yamaha Phoenix kit. Such a fun gig!

I saw them once in Greenwood, South Carolina in 2010 and they were awesome! Ever since then they only go to the lower state in South Carolina. They never come to the upstate on their tour. I'm not driving 3 1/2 hours to see them.

I saw them up here in New England. They did a great job. They are a tribute band - not the band. If you can get around that, as a DMB fan, I think it's a good time. And they do play all the fan favorite, old school stuff which was fun to have for a full show.

My good buddy plays drums for them. He's the only other guy with a pretty legit, accurate CB replica. His kit is the 02 Era setup.

I still play the southwest shows, but it's been a while since we've had much our way. Absolutely love playing with these guys!

Last time I played with the guys was in St Louis and Baton Rouge right before covid hit. I'm absolutely stoked about being back on shows with them. The Fayetteville show should be a rocking NWA crowd

Just saw them in Buffalo last Friday. The drummer was the most legit " Carter" I have seen in a tribute band. He and the sax player were tops for me. I have seen a few different bands over the years. The members of the DMTB that were there have all lived in Western NY, specifically Buffalo, at one time or another in their lives, so this was "a hometown show". They are old school, have a "Butch" not a "Buddy" and no Rashawn. I happen to love a horn section and felt it was missing from the sound I enjoy but was accurate to the early editions of the band. The had a buddy sit in and play "Tim" on a few songs.

Overall it was great. But having seen our local cover group "Big Eyed Phish" in November (full current band instrumentation) and that lead singer paired up with another local guitarist to do a very nice "Dave and Tim" show just a few weeks ago, it was a nice to hear some older versions. Get spoiled with all the DMB and DMB adjacent music that is around here on a regular basis.

I saw them last month when they were around my area and they were fantastic. It helped that they were playing a small venue, but it was a fun show. The one (minor) critique was that crowd on the whole was surprised that there wasn't an encore, but both sets were great.

Unfortunately the band split. Alex does a Dave and Tim style set still that is absolutely incredible

I think Alex has the most spot on impression of Dave Matthews I have ever seen. His playing and singing are incredible. Like if you close your eyes, it's hard to tell a difference from DM in his prime. He's also got the facial expressions down, eyebrows and smiling while playing etc...

Absolutely. I wish they had kept the band together. Alex really does have every aspect of Dave down.

I love playing drums with all these guys, but there's a few songs I can't play that David with DMTB can play absolutely spot on. YNK is one I'm always like yeah don't even put it on the set list lol. He's got Carter down pretty good as well.

I love playing drums with all these guys, but there's a few songs I can't play that David with DMTB can play absolutely spot on. YNK is one I'm always like yeah don't even put it on the set list lol. He's got Carter down pretty good as well.
I've only listened to snippets of the full band here and there, but was impressed by everyone. No one from the OG 5 is easy to imitate. And ya, YNK was one I checked out on youtube just to see if they could pull it off, and they definitely did! The end jam of Crush was one I was also really impressed with. So much going on, and they nailed it.

I saw Alex solo at the Cave B winery open mic pre Gorge one year. I was like WTF ?! This is unreal. And he had a Rockbridge guitar and everything.
