Hartford! Coming back for another year after a string of disappointment in Mansfield (seriously, haven't had fun tailgating there since 2005. Sheesh). It'll be a hell of a good time again, staying at the Sheraton again this year and will be partying at the Super 8. Good times abound again!

There was an odd smell one year...even inside the venue. And the people are obnoxious IMO. But...it'll be my first show for several months, so I'll deal with it

And should I be referring to this place as the Meadows? That's what I've picked up on through this forum. for a very long time it was the meadows music thearte, and even though it has had a different name just about every year, if you tell somebody you're going to the meadows, they know what you're talking about
the ampithearter is pretty standard imo. it is almost identical to camden if you've ever been there.
if you haven't noticed by the chatter in this thread, the tailgaiting scene at hartford is second to none. there is about a mile strip of just straight fun. the only problem, which i feel like happens at every venue is kids who cannot hold their liqour. ignore these bad seeds and you'll have a great time

they use a soundstage to set the stuff up then move to the Meadows they did it last year also.

yep that is it... there is the free parking lots then a bunch of private pay lots and then a couple hotels and its just a huge party before the shows.

be smart and look out for yourself and who your with and you will have a great time. also don't pay no mind to slight spicy taste and burning sensation in the air it's just the Hartford PD's pepper spray

Groton...bringing the case of 60 Min. IPA this year? I'm thinking of stopping in MA on the way down from Portland to pick up some Oskar Blues instead...just because it's in cans, and it's awesome. And I don't want a repeat of me losing a bottle of Southern Tier awesomeness due to my inability to keep balance after half a beer.

Hell yeah. PBR is my cheap swill of choice. Thinking a couple bombers of Uber Sun and two 6-packs from Oskar Blues, not counting whatever I owe Irish Matty for splitting a hotel with them.

Its my first summer out of college and now have a job to afford pavilion seats. This is my first time ordering through the warehouse so lets not grill me that i should know this. Do the seat assignments usually go up at night on the 25th or is it possible to be alittle before then?

Only confirmation that you have seats. No locations till about April 1ish.

I usually have my WH seats, and then try to get a set of Ticketmaster tix. Whichever is worse are the one's I sell off.

question, i'm bringing my mom to her first show, we want to pull right in walk around inside the venue and peace out when its over. That being said, should I get the premier parking?

i've never been to hartford either so any input would be great, thanks!

Premier parking would be the way to go for that. However, last year I parked in a private lot right when you pull onto the same street as the venue and I didn't have any problems getting out. Its a bit of a walk but I only paid $20 when I think premier is $30.

hartford, starscape, and phish SPAC look like they'll be on 3 consecutive weekends and i can't take 3 weekends off in a row from work.

yeah you have two options for parking. one is premier parking, which yuo will pay extra for and if i'm not mistaken, is right next to the venue and i think you will have just as much trouble getting out as people who parked in the expo for free.
option two is park relatively far away, away from mercedes, the expo, etc and you will have alot less trouble getting out, but this includes a decent amount of walking. you will probably save 10 dollars parking and walking. twenty to thirty dollars is about normal for small bussiness parking.

I seem to always end up staying at the Hilton when I go to the Hartford shows...anyone know of another hotel that might be cheaper and also in walking distance?

Being that its the first two nights of the tour I hope they rock the shit out of the place...plus Dave's voice should be great...sadly I'll be stuck on the lawn for N1

Haha yeah, we were kinda stealthy like that within the group...up until a few beers got loaded in me and I got my hands on one of the guitars. Hope the weather from N2 is what we get again. Although the rain definitely helped keep the high-schoolers more in check.
