Re: The Warehouse needs a new way of ticketing.

In regards to my prior post, I have $95.00 Orchestra A Row K for The Mann. The other night I saw Platinum seats for almost $400 in Orchestra A Row G, so somewhere in there is the threshold for the monetary transition. Again, leaves me wondering where the WH Premiums will be located? Will the rows between $400 and $95.00 be WH Premiums or will they be interspersed with the Platinum section?

There isn't going to be absolute, defined seating separations between ticket types:

    - Friday I bought a Nashville single in 102-B-13 for $95, on TM there is a Platinum pair right to this seat at $690/ticket, 102-B-11&12
    - Friday I bought a 4th row Pit single for ATL for $95, the $690 Platinum seats started behind this in Orch
    - 12/98 members frequently have Regular warehouse tickets closer than other's Premium Packages

BINGO! Why should length of time in a fan club have anything to do with it? It's a fan club where you have to pay each, and every year. Everyone pays the same amount, and everyone should initially be on a level playing field for tickets. The Warehouse currently does it the right way to be fair to all of its members.

While I agree that new members should have a shot at tickets, the beef with the WH is that they pitched the whole the longer you're a member, the better your tickets get over time. So it's their fault because it's a bait and switch.

Seniority seems to be less and less relevant every year with the creation of the Pit, Premiums, and now Platinum seating.

I totally get your point, but there would be absolutely no incentive to a newbie to join the warehouse if they had no shot at tickets. There should be something to reward longtime members over newbies though. It just doesn't seem fair.

Bingo. Also, senior members have been paying longer/more, so they deserve the seniority/better seats.

Not sure where you are getting your information from. Pearl Jam seating is entirely based on seniority.

From the Ten Club's ticketing policy:

"For Pearl Jam shows that are 100% seated (no standing pit in front of the stage), tickets are allocated by membership seniority, with the exception of rows 1-2 and rows 9-10 which will be used for random allocation unless otherwise announced."

As long as people keep renewing, everyone's happy.

All recent PJ shows have had GA fronts, so the random rows haven't applied in awhile

I just have to tell you that I've been quoting the phrase "poop seats" for the last month.

And I completely agree with the option of opting out of uppers.

Yeah there's been a few times I've gotten tickets through WH and then upgraded to decent seats but ended up spending about what premiums would've cost me. Then I'm sitting there at the show like "fuck I coulda had better seats and a bunch of swag", but I just haven't been able to bring myself to buy premiums because I'm too stubborn or too stupid not sure which

Yeah, and I'm puzzled by the platinum seats. The prices on those have dropped by almost half. So how do they justify that to people who shelled out 2 grand when they first went on sale?

Of course they do. It's awful and I don't know why any of us pay for it.

one tiny thing I think they could do to make things slightly better is to limit ticket requests to people who were members the day before the ticket announcement.

completely anecdotal but I have heard several stories of people just getting a new WH membership every year and getting better seats than mid-seniority members; this would curb that.

I thought this was interesting. At 2:20 they talk about the warehouse ticketing. At about 2:40 he basically admits new fans get closer seats, older fans further back.

I think that was oddly edited. It seems like it would be an answer to why they did a GA pit.

Because the fan club certainly wasn't started with the idea of putting the oldest fans farther back.

James o'keefe has moved on from acorn and planned parenthood, taking on the warehouse now. Really the three biggest issues of our generation
