Obviously, I'm thrilled (because this was a short sale and I had signed the contract back on June 12, 2010) and we closed today...closing wasn't so bad; only lasted about an hour or so.
The house is actually a townhouse, end unit. 2/2. no garage, but 2 parking spots that I own. It does need some work, but its well worth it and shouldn't take too long to get all settled in one the major work is completed.
The 4 biggest things to be done are:
-remove the popcorn ceiling
-rip up all the flooring and lay new tile down
-paint all the walls (esp the master b/c it has lavender walls)
-new kitchen--the kitchen is completely out-dated
It was worth the 8 month wait, considering the sellers bought it back in '05 for $ 185k, and I paid $ 72k.
I just overall very excited as this is a HUGE step in my life.
anybody got any advice for a new homeowner?
