I'm glad that I didn't try to say anything like "Best Team Ever". Not that I would ever be so hyperbolic, but I just thought it was a fun story, definitely the kind of thing that makes you look forward to this season if you're a Tigers' fan.

Since the fantasy thread gets no traffic. I'm taking over a team in a money league. I don't know who drafted this pile of shit but I get to freeze a pitcher and a hitter. Halladay is the pitcher.

    These are the hitters

    Asdrubal Cabrera
    Corey Hart
    Derek Jeter
    Kelly Johnson
    Adam Jones
    Russell Martin
    Jason Kubel
    Martin Prado
    Mitch Moreland
    Carlos Ruiz
    Scott Rolen
    Jose Tabata
    Drew Stubbs
    Jayson Werth
    Neil Walker
    Michael Young

    jesus Freeze Jones???

Definitely not Jones. Positional scarcity and the lack thereof in the outfield would make that a bad move. My initial read is to freeze cabrera or maybe walker, but you've gotta give more detail about what freezing someone entails. Can you freeze them forever? Are you giving up a certain draft pick? If it's an auction, what price? If you decide you must freeze an outfielder, Stubbs is the much better choice. In fact Stubbs might be best overall depending on how sustainable you think Cabrera's 2011 was/is.

Not giving up a pick. I have 2nd pick after I make my choices. I like youngs flexibility.

Position flexibility is good but it depends on the position--Young's bat doesn't profile at 1B that well in fantasy (although his average does play a bit better there). I just think you can do better at 1B than Michael Young so the flexibility isn't that huge of a deal. Although he is pretty good at 3B because after Longoria there's a lot of question marks there--does Miggy play enough to get eligibility? Do Arod and Wright stay healthy? Then again, isn't michael young like 47 years old? He could be viewed as a question mark too.

He's not eligible in any of my leagues at 2nd...he did play 14 games there last year but that was the first time in 8 years. With Kinsler there hoping out for 2B eligibility is kind of a gamble, IMO more of a gamble than you want with 1 position player keeper.

I don't think you want to use your keeper on a guy who "might" do something. I think that's what late round draft picks are for. You want to use a keeper, particularly when you aren't paying anything to keep him, to solidly lock a position down.

There isn't a player on that list that solidly locks down a position.

Cabrera at his position is a much surer bet than Jones at his. Jones is at best a top 20 outfielder, at the absolute best. Cabrera is at worst a top 5 SS.

I wish I could see the draft results for last year. Previous owner had to have a fire sale. You can't possibly draft that bad.
