I'm sure Deandre Liggins, Darius Miller, and Josh Harrellson make the NBA playing for someone besides Cal. Wait, they did play for someone besides Cal and werent even starters on their college team? NO WAY!

The NBA executives are the one saying Billy's the best college coach when it comes to preparing players for the NBA and that Cal's barely in the top 10. Kinda hard to argue with that. But Cal sure can ride those rented mules.

I do love how Kentucky fans always resort to the whole history thing. Like I already said, Florida can't touch that now or probably ever. But this is about current Gator basketball and Billy Donovan compared to current Kentucky basketball and John Calipari. I love the fact that Rupp won a bunch of titles before color TV, the 3 point line, and the printing press, but it really doesn't make a difference in what we're talking about.

I'm banking on the fact that Billy will at the very least be tied with Rupp in the NC department by the time he's done at UF.

Congrats, you found the one article on the internet that said Billy D was better at developing talent than Calipari. see, it's easy to argue with that. Look at UK players vs UF players in the nba all star game. That's what most people would say shows who was "prepared for the nba" instead of what espn said some nameless executives said. I mean really?

And I LOVE how UF fans completely discount that whole pesky 'history' thing. Sure, only the last 15 years count, whatever. Cause that's convenient for you right? You're bad at this, guy.

Cal has been significantly more successful than Donovan since he arrived at Kentucky. There is no way to spin that in Florida's favor.

You're the one that brought history into it in the first place!

All I said was, if we're only counting a team's success by national championships, then neither UF nor UK had a successful year last year, and Billy has had two "successful" seasons compared to Calipari's one. Then you decided to take it on the whole history tangent.

But it is hilarious how you ignore every bit of proof I put out there. You can close your eyes and cover your ears as to what the execs said, but it doesn't change what they said. You're like the little kid who closes his eyes playing hide and seek and thinks he's invisible.

Well if we're using the dipshit method of national championship seasons being the only way a season is a successful one, then yeah, he's got Billy beat 1-0 in the last few years. Although when Cal took over, Billy was at the tail end of his rebuilding job with the program after the 04's left, and he didn't have John Wall. Had some pretty shitty timing between 07-10 with those guys leaving and a few players not panning out and/or transferring/leaving early. We'll see how things go from here, though, Billy's got the program on auto pilot now.

and once more, no one ever said national titles were the only way to measure success. no one, including me has said that. it's just funny to make fun of Florida for being the overwhelming favorite and choking. we did it in here to Kansas when they did it, Duke when they did it, UK when they did it, and now Florida. Cal and Billy achieve success two completely different ways. Cal gets oodles of elite talent to play well together while Donovan molds very good talent that 95% of schools would love to have over multiple years. Comparing what they do doesn't make much sense.

This is just a list of excuses for why Cal has achieved more recently. Donovan is a great guy to have leading Florida's program, but Kentucky is unquestionably the best program in the SEC right now.

I have no idea. The one thing I'm sure of is that athletes took a bunch of easy classes that regular students did as well. Nothing I've read has has indicated the program was involved in it.

Kentucky fans across the country are rattled, check out their Rivals site. Butthurt to the max that UK isn't considered the best at something related to basketball.
