Worst Guest Performances You've Seen
I was thinking about it today, and had to go back to the tapes, but I think Mike Doughty's awful vocal performance on Jimi Thing at MSG in '05 might be the worst guest performance I've seen. I remember thinking how bad it was and I haven't listened to it in a while.

Anybody have any thoughts on this performance or any really terrible guest performance you've seen? Who is the worst?

    Black Eyed Peas on Jimi in 09 was bad.
    Toots of Toots and the Maytals on Warehouse in 2007 is absolutely hilarious.

    I forgot about the black eyed peas, but that wasn't planned if I remember correctly. Didn't they just fucking pop on stage? Haven't heard toots, I'll look for that.

    I will absolutely second Black Eyed Peas at Outside Lands in 2009. It was like a wet fart just roiling off the stage when they came on.

    Also, I wasn't there, but the Edge on Smooth Rider goes down in my book as one of the most tragic events in music history. Mainly because DMB and U2 are my favorite bands and Smooth Rider is an absolute piece of shit. It was like winning ten cents in the lottery.

    It was even worse because it was at Fenway, and they did it N1 and N2. Such a disappointment

    haha yeah fergie is pretty fucking bad. If you haven't heard it though, you should listen to Mike Doughty butcher an amazing version of jimi thing with a butch taylor scat. 12/10/05, the one smear mark on the entire show.

    They didn't guest, but I saw the Black Eyed Peas open for them in 2005, back when they were actually good. Other than that, I wasn't a huge fan of Xavier Rudd in in Hartford 2007 on Bartender.

    i saw questlove on warehouse, he was indistinguishable. Carter outplayed him and quest wasn't given a solo, so it was just like double drums. the idea is cool though.
