That was just an awful show overall. One of the worst I've seen if not the worst. You know it's bad when Everyday was a highlight.

I remember that being disappointing, but not bad. Couldn't really even hear her (where I was anyway).

The thing about the BEF - Jimi fiasco was that Dave didn't exactly help anything in terms of making it suck less

Danny Barnes was incredible on Bartender at The Woodlands in 2007. He's a great musician, Dave just fucked up and gave him a bad reputation by repeating his songs endlessly at the Gorge that one year.

I've seen willydigger 4 times, all at farmaid, the first time I saw it, it was redeemed by Dave guesting on allman brothers on song mellisa

It's just not a good idea to turn the band into a backing band for a guest, unless the guest is someone super famous or something.

EDIT: Like Melissa. Good example. I saw them do that with Gregg Allman at MSG and it was great.

Yeah, I'll come to Danny Barnes' defense as well. He played at the Hollywood bowl on 10/1 and 10/2 in 2007. He did a great job. Particularly the Stone, but he kicked butt on everything he guested on, which I believe included LIOG, Corn Bread, Bartender etc. It was awesome. The ONLY thing that took away from it was that I've heard Bela do banjo with the DMB, so I'm spoiled.

I was there too....though I'd like to forget.

I was also at SPAC in 07' with Toots and remembering thinking to myself..."wait, seriously?" I almost felt badly for the guy....it was awful.

I've seen a ton of guests over the years, but those 2 stand out as being really, really bad.
