When they did the festival in St. Paul it was reported in the paper the paycheck was $1 million.

Maybe venues are different, but I have a friend that books bands at a venue. He says the band and venue negotiate a price for the band to play. The band makes this money no matter how many tickets are sold. Then the band pays the venue a percentage of the merchandise sales.

So the band makes plenty of money no matter how many tickets are

No offense to anyone's home town but seriously cut out Ark, Okla, and Wichita and just play 3 nights at Red Rocks.

God, I hope they play Red Rocks again. I was looking at the poster I have from their Giants Stadium 3-night tour in 2000 and wow, what a time that was. This tour seemed interesting to me since I first read the venue list, especially for their 25th anniversary. I thought for sure they would have played Red Rocks.

I found 2012 and 2014 and some of 2013 but can't find 2015 anywhere.

Jones Beach was sold out i believe. a day or two before the show no tickets were available on ticketmaster.

Sure, several shows are selling 98-100% of the tickets: Jones Beach, Atlanta, Charlotte

But some shows are certainly selling 35-55% of the tickets: Wichita, OKC, ARK, St Louis

Which shows are you curious about the numbers?

I dont understand that link....I see shows on there from June 17th, June 18th, etc.....but I dont see the DMB shows from VA Beach and Bristow???? What am I missing??

DMB came it at 18 on the top 20 grossing tours of 2015 with a $41.8 million fross and 721,099 tickets sold. Not where they used to be by any stretch, but hardly at the State Fair/Casino Act level.

NH second night I was in section 3D and it was half empty. Not sure if they sold and people upgraded or what but it was pretty empty.

Yeah I would not at all be surprised if those mid-week stops in Bumfuck AK with 800 attendees are thrown in by Live Nation to sweeten the deal at the venues they can still fill.

The market for legacy touring acts like DMB has been pretty crowded lately and I kind of feel like it's a big bubble about to burst. So many bands have been touring every summer for the better part of a decade or two, and the demand isn't there ... and yet the band is obviously making money or they wouldn't do it. I suspect it has to do with LiveNation's dominance.
