Quirky guitar riffs like the king is dead but you can hear how it'll be more mature once they're full band and the lyrics are right out of the early decemberists day. Very promising. Cannot wait hints of a preorder email

That new song reminds of #27. Haha

Anyway, I love the sound of Colin 2.0. I know most hardcore Decemberists fans prefer the old school quirky stuff but I prefer the newer material like the Always the Bridesmaid and King is Dead/Long Live The King stuff.

Really looking forward to the concert!

Really like that one and you're right - definitely hear alot of #27 in it. I personally didn't care much for the King is Dead/Long Live the Kind - I just found it boring. Definitely excited to hear more new stuff

I agree. Although I celebrate their entire catalogue, The King Is Dead appeals to me more than Castaways.

Really looking forward to their new album; this is the first I've heard of it.

What makes their early records -- the lyrics. I love the way they've matured musically but Colin's lyrics have matured in a sense but they channel the unique lyrics of early decemberists. June hymn was a great step back to earlier lyrics with a matured outlook and the new songs from the solo tour all mirror that. Can't wait

I didn't rage tonight. But the show was probably the best concert I've ever seen. Period. The mix, the crowd, the performances. They sound so good compared with when they went on hiatus

Last night's show was amazing. I heard they played the exact same set (sans the Outfield improv cover) both nights, which really sucks for those that shelled out the dough.

No new songs either, but Colin said they spent yesterday morning listening to the 18(!!!) songs they have recorded for the new album. Can't wait!

Colin busked on a random street corner in Brooklyn yesterday, played a few new songs and a few old songs. Album artwork was revealed as a mural on the side of the building (painted by Carson) and the album announcement is coming next week, but he already said it'll be out January 20th.

Wow, that's a long album. 14 songs, 4 are over 5 minutes, only one under 2 minutes. Heard a few of them live.

Make You Better is a great song. I like it more than the lead single off The King Is Dead.

Presale tickets went onsale today, but you need a code that they sent with preordering their album from their site. Anyone know the code or is it unique to each buyer?

Considering making a weekend to do the two Atlanta shows

So excited for this CD. Lake Song is fantastic...I feel like this is going to be great, like a matured Picaresque.

So far these guys have yet to fail me. That Hazards of Love tour was one of my favorite tours I've ever seen, so epic and still very Decemberisty.

Yeah, that's good stuff. The backing vocals are a bit over the top at points.
