This was a free promo, and very rare. It only had 5 tracks, and 3 are on the actual Union Chapel release. Two that were on here, but not on the release are actually great performances.

Cannon Ball - http://www.sendspace.com/file/4ljo55
Childish - http://www.sendspace.com/file/x8sf09

Goldfish Memorys Soundtrack
If the movie title doesn't sound familiar to you, it's because to my knowledge it was only released across the pond. It featured 4 cover songs originally by Tom Jobim. Three of the four were by Damien, Lisa, and Vyvienne. The other by some guy named Richie Burkley.

Once I Loved - http://www.sendspace.com/file/wcosl6
Desafinado - http://www.sendspace.com/file/f1leda
Waters of March - http://www.sendspace.com/file/q2xp80

9 Crimes (Demo)
This demo is actually found on the 9 CD, but it's a hidden track. It was a zero track, that basically you had to start the 1st track and rewind to it. Not all CD players are capable of skipping forward/backward and accessing this demo. I created a thread on Ants a long time ago and many people were unaware of it. This is the guitar version of the song.

9 Crimes (Demo) - http://www.sendspace.com/file/n251xf

Rat Within the Grain
This is a b-side to the 9 album, and truth be told I really like it. I wish it had made the album. It's not very long, but it's always good to have more Damien.

Rat Within the Grain - http://www.sendspace.com/file/p1g8px

Lonely Soilder
This was done with Christy Moore. This isn't rare, but it's not easy to get ahold of either. I used to have an acoustic version, that was just Damien. The guest singer has a weird voice, but after I got used to it I like him as well.

Lonely Soilder - http://www.sendspace.com/file/4egkgn

Cross-Eyed Bear
I really don't know much about this song. It's nice though.

Cross Eyed Bear - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ksh8jg

Que Sera Sera
This was done with David Gray at the Live Earth show. I loved it, and believe this is ripped from the webcast. Not sure, but it's good quality. I'm sure everyone knows this song.

Que Sera Sera - http://www.sendspace.com/file/wdxa3p

Dogs (1, 2, and 3)
There were three different versions of Dogs released for the single. Obviously Dogs was always track #1, but the rest were various radio Performances. In case you haven't heard it, Rootless Tree from the 3FM is absolutely AMAZING. Way better then the version on 9.

Dogs 1 (Live at Radio 3 FM)
9 Crimes (Guitar Ver. solo) - http://www.sendspace.com/file/2dp7zc
Rootless Tree (Piano Ver. solo) - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ghqeao

Dogs 2 (Live at Wiselord Studios)
The Professor & la fille Dance - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ima69a
9 Crimes (Guitar Ver. full band) - http://www.sendspace.com/file/gclpxt
Rootless Tree (Piano Ver. full band) - http://www.sendspace.com/file/zusy3n

Dogs 3 (Live at Wiselord Studios)
Elephant - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ovh2qh
Accidental Babies - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ghaf6r
Childish - http://www.sendspace.com/file/fyts08

Unplayed Piano
This was a song they did for a charity album who's purpose is to free Aung San Suu Kyi. She's the only Nobel Peace Prize winner under house arrest.

Unplayed Piano - http://www.sendspace.com/file/677txs

Don't Explain
Song they did with Herbie Hancock. It's a jazz song, and for the record Lisa sounds AMAZING on it in my opinion.

Don't Explain - http://www.sendspace.com/file/m987d5

Pet Sounds
This was a radio show they did in June 2004. I think it's just Damien and Lisa. The quality isn't great, but it's not bad either. It's clear, but the bitrate is on the lower side. I got these over from EskimoFriends.com a long time ago. It's cool though because it's got Lisa doing lead vocals on Cannonball.

Cannonball (Lisa ver.) - http://www.sendspace.com/file/j9ryqu
Creep (Radiohead cover) - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ik0daz
Older Chest - http://www.sendspace.com/file/knlfrp
awesome.

i just heard about this guy. love it

Ok this is something I'm willing to bet none of you have. Took me a long time to track down a copy. Not sure why I didn't upload this with all the other songs. There's a place called Fingerprints Record store in Long Beach, CA. This was recorded in-store sometime in November 2006 during the 9 tour. Yes Lisa is still with him. This got released in 2007, but to my knowledge is an in store exclusive. It's more then likely out of print now. I finally found a torrent for it a while ago, and I think you'll enjoy this.

    Live from the Union Chapel
This isn't as rare as it used to be, but since it was requested I'm upping it. Make sure you grab the two songs from the earlier post from the free promo CD for this show (in my earlier post). Gives you a little more complete experiance that way. I'd highly recommend Volcano from this. Then Go, Be My Husband, and Silent Night all feature Lisa on lead vocals. All in all this is just a fantastic release.

He's AMAZING live. Did you watch the 'I Remember' in the first post of this thread? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYPCYboEpmk&fmt=18

It's an amazing performance, make sure you watch the entire thing. It just keeps building and building. Even though his shows are different from a DMB show, I have a hard time saying which I like better. I mean I've never seen Damien Rice live and walked away dissapointed. But to be far I've only seen him three times live.

He's working on a new album, he should tour the U.S. again. When it comes out I'd go see him live.

To my knowledge, there's no live DVD of Damien. Though hopefully he eventually comes out with one. Though he recently did From the Basement, and that whole series is on DVD.

    From the Basement
    1. Delicate - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2C8E0OpzQmw&fmt=18
    2. Rootless Tree - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xzq34YD3T8E&fmt=18
    3. 9 Crimes - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwEEujDlkBM&fmt=18
    4. The Blower's Daughter - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f_zUFihWAA&fmt=18

It should come as no surprise these are good peformances. It's just Damien by himself, so you know.

Union Chapel is avail on iTunes (this version anyway - not including the two tracks you posted earlier). So this is most likely a no-no.

Thanks for all the uploads. I thought i had all i could get my hands on - man was i wrong! also - eskimofriends.com has a lot of free d/ls.

That's the only message board I know about. Damien isn't as big as DMB, so it's hard to get info on him. All I know about the album is the YouTube stuff he posted which is on the 2nd page of this thread: http://www.antsmarching.org/forum/sh...7&postcount=31

Well thanks in any case. I'm a member of eskimo friends, but I don't go there much, cause its mostly his die hards picking over the only 2 albums Damo has.

The youtubes are cool, I haven't watched them since they first came out, so thanks.

I went on vacation shortly after making this thread so I missed all the stuff you posted, downloading now! Thanks a lot for posting all that material, it's gold.

Haven't seen Damien live, but when he tours in the US again I'll drive halfway across the damn country to see him. I honestly can't think of an acoustic singer/songwriter that is as good live. He's a true artist.

Ya I've seen him 3 times, and I'm dying to see him again. I so badly want him to go on tour to support the album. In case anyone hasn't yet, download the stuff he was talking about. Especially if you're not familiar with Damien, this stuff is great:

If the movie title doesn't sound familiar to you, it's because to my knowledge it was only released across the pond. It featured 4 cover songs originally by Tom Jobim. Three of the four were by Damien, Lisa, and Vyvienne. The other by some guy named Richie Burkley.

    Once I Loved - http://www.sendspace.com/file/wcosl6
    Desafinado - http://www.sendspace.com/file/f1leda
    Waters of March - http://www.sendspace.com/file/q2xp80

    9 Crimes (Demo)
This demo is actually found on the 9 CD, but it's a hidden track. It was a zero track, that basically you had to start the 1st track and rewind to it. Not all CD players are capable of skipping forward/backward and accessing this demo. I created a thread on Ants a long time ago and many people were unaware of it. This is the guitar version of the song.

    9 Crimes (Demo) - http://www.sendspace.com/file/n251xf

    Rat Within the Grain
This is a b-side to the 9 album, and truth be told I really like it. I wish it had made the album. It's not very long, but it's always good to have more Damien.

Rat Within the Grain - http://www.sendspace.com/file/p1g8px

    Lonely Soilder
This was done with Christy Moore. This isn't rare, but it's not easy to get ahold of either. I used to have an acoustic version, that was just Damien. The guest singer has a weird voice, but after I got used to it I like him as well.

    Lonely Soilder - http://www.sendspace.com/file/4egkgn

    Cross-Eyed Bear
I really don't know much about this song. It's nice though.

    Cross Eyed Bear - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ksh8jg

    Que Sera Sera
This was done with David Gray at the Live Earth show. I loved it, and believe this is ripped from the webcast. Not sure, but it's good quality. I'm sure everyone knows this song.

    Que Sera Sera - http://www.sendspace.com/file/wdxa3p

    Dogs (1, 2, and 3)
There were three different versions of Dogs released for the single. Obviously Dogs was always track #1, but the rest were various radio Performances. In case you haven't heard it, Rootless Tree from the 3FM is absolutely AMAZING. Way better then the version on 9.

Dogs 1 (Live at Radio 3 FM)
    9 Crimes (Guitar Ver. solo) - http://www.sendspace.com/file/2dp7zc

    Accidental Babies - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ghaf6r
    Childish - http://www.sendspace.com/file/fyts08

    Unplayed Piano
This was a song they did for a charity album who's purpose is to free Aung San Suu Kyi. She's the only Nobel Peace Prize winner under house arrest.

    Unplayed Piano - http://www.sendspace.com/file/677txs

    Don't Explain
Song they did with Herbie Hancock. It's a jazz song, and for the record Lisa sounds AMAZING on it in my opinion.

    Don't Explain - http://www.sendspace.com/file/m987d5

    Pet Sounds
This was a radio show they did in June 2004. I think it's just Damien and Lisa. The quality isn't great, but it's not bad either. It's clear, but the bitrate is on the lower side. I got these over from EskimoFriends.com a long time ago. It's cool though because it's got Lisa doing lead vocals on Cannonball.

Damien is amazing live. Lisa or not. He somehow makes a large space very intimate in every performance.

This is from his South American tour. Looks like it was outside the venue. Doing a solo Accidental Babies on the guitar. Wish I had a tab for that.

    Re: Damien Rice Appreciation

I got to meet Damien a couple times back in 2006. He was nice enough, asked me if I was "kind"... Sadly, the demands of my job forbid any partaking of the fun stuff for a few more years. He went off on some poetic rant about nature and the sky, I don't really remember. What I do remember was talking to Lisa. She is one of the most amazing people I've ever had the pleasure of talking to. I told her at first that I was petrified to say hello. She chuckled a little and said it was okay, she gets that way too. When she first met Ray LaMontagne, all she could say was, "I like your beard". At the end of the night, she kissed me on the cheek goodnight. I almost passed out.

To this day, that was one of the greatest nights of my life. Oh, and I bought Vyvienne a drink too.

What a great vid, thanks for posting What an amazing oppourtunity to be there and hear him unplugged literally standing next to you.

I love how at the end he goes "don't clap!"

    Re: Damien Rice Appreciation

Thought this was interesting. I know we have a more detailed story I posted earlier, but I can't believe she's never seen/talked to him since that night. Here's the Rice related parts:

    http://www.sfexaminer.com/local/peop...-39469007.html

SAN FRANCISCO – When her employer recently bid her adieu after seven years of service, says Celtic thrush Lisa Hannigan, there was no severance package.

“I don’t think there was any gold watch offered as a parting gift, either,” she laughs. It was a cold kiss-off when temperamental folkie Damien Rice axed his longtime duet partner mere minutes before a concert in Munich.

“We’d had blowups within the band before that, because for any group that’s lived and worked together in a small space, seven years is a long time,” reflects this good sport.

“So it wasn’t a particularly pleasant way for it to end, but things just came to the end of a cycle, and it was time to start over for everyone involved.”

Not angry about being pink-slipped, she never saw Rice again. Of the experience, she says, “If that hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t be where I am now. I’m feeling really good about my life, and it’s just a waste to be bitter."

I was there too... easily the highlight of Bonnaroo for me because I went into it without really knowing much about Damien... and left in awe!

Seven Nation Army with Vyvienne was awesome... she was so cute trying to be louder than the other show nearby

was thinking of the Lisa departure when i was listening to this show -

    http://www.archive.org/details/damo2...los-angeles-ca

interestingly enough - Lisa had quite a prominent role in the show...taking on more vocals than i am used to

in addition, when i saw Lisa in Chicago (2/28) i noticed some tension still there. from my review:

Some hangover is still in the air amongst concert goers. A few calls for songs that she used to perform with Damien (i.e. Be My Husband) and a "Damien who?" made for awkward moments on stage. After the 2nd comment, the trumpet player, (Donagh?) gave a "zip it" gesture.

Whenever this is topped I am just hoping for some shred of info about a new album. In any case, spring is my time for Damien, so this should be a good week.
