    Re: the blacklist (tv)

was just going to post in the TV thread. man there really were some contrivances in this last episode.

First, so the dude's girlfriend gets into a car accident with him. She sees the bf up the street wrestling with the bad guy over a gun, so she climbs out of the wreckage and starts walking directly TOWARD them? wtf?? She might as well literally have painted a bullseye mark on her chest That made zero sense.

and then the Lance Reddick character says to the girl "Don't make that call, the moment you do, he's going to kill you and then me". You can tell that actually gets into the chicks head for a minute, like "is he right?" She then proceeds to turn her back to make the phone call and doesn't turn around the entire time. Are you kidding me?? "hmm I'll think I''l just make it as convenient as possible for this guy to double cross and kill me... after all, it's not like I could've made that phone call facing his direction..."

Junior, the chick just bashed her head against the window of a car. I don't think she had the wherewithal to realize she was walking out into a shoot out.

How do you ever enjoy a show? You nitpick everything.

I'll maybe give it to you on the car crash chick, but no way, I'm standing by these two things pretty firmly. The plot needed these two characters to die last night, and it was really lame ways that it happened.

I'll definitely be watching, mostly for Spader. He is awesome. Show had it's ups an downs, I thought. I would watch the 2-3 episodes at a time since the DVR would back up with them so I obviously felt it wasn't must watch TV.

Man, I was so on board with this show at the beginning. Anyone else feel like it's become overly formulaic? Just seems like there's a ton of background on the blacklister in question and someone puts everything together incredibly quickly in the third act leading to their capture.

I don't know, I just had hopes that this show wouldn't be as procedural as it's turning out to be.

Also think their writing Spader to an almost comical level. May be that this isn't the consensus. I've just fallen off on this one. Wife still watches it.

I like it overall, but really my major criticism with the first season, honestly I thought the leash on Spader is a bit too long. Some of the moments they let him wind up having chewing the scenery, it's a bit over the top and kind of cheesy. I'm hoping this would be reigned in a bit for season 2, but I ain't holding my breath.

Did Megan Boone get hotter between season one and two or is it just me? Maybe the nood of her helped her case.

I thought she was adorable right off the bat, and was honestly surprised there wasn't more talk about her. But that's definitely the furthest they've gone with showing her body. And I THINK that little moment she had of looking at herself in the window reflection pulling her hair up was supposed to be kind of an inside joke. I didn't hear about any of this until after the fact last year, but apparently there was some sort of "controversy" because her real hair is shorter, and she has to wear some kind of extensions on the show. But I never would've guessed that if I hadn't heard it. I thought her hair as is looks completely real.

Just finished S1 on Netflix. Wow, a nice show. Ups and downs throughout the season but a refreshing plot for once. The last scene in S1 (with Red) was amazing. What a spin. Gonna start S2 now.

I think he needs to dial it back just about 5-10%, then he could very well be the best. But they do get just a little too cutesy sometimes.

I mentioned this in the TV thread, my newest theory is that Red is working under a death sentence, that that's what this is all about. Shortly before Red turned himself in he was diagnosed with some rare disease and was told he would die in roughly 5 years, so he wants to get all this shit done.
