Hey, I've heard that the band had 36 songs when the first entered the studio with Lillywhite in 1994. I know 32 of these would have been...

All 12 of the UTTAD songs
The other 8 songs on RTT
    So Much To Say
    Two Step
    Say Goodbye
    DIDO
    LIOG
    Cry Freedom
    Granny
    Halloween
    Kind Intentions
    #36
    Blue Water
    Help Myself

    What were the others?

I don't know what you mean "the band had X songs when they entered the studio". The band obviously had songs they played live, covers and originals and entered into the studio with knowledge of those songs, but there were only so many songs recorded during the UTTAD sessions.

If we look at the UTTAD sessions, we know certain songs were recorded. (Tour Central is a great source of info on studio sessions, FYI).

    Best of What’s Around
    Jimi Thing
    Rhyme & Reason
    Satellite
    What Would You Say
    Pay For What You Get
    Ants Marching
    Dancing Nancies
    #34
    Typical Situation
    Lover Lay Down
    Warehouse

Granny - recorded but not on UTTAD, later released for the 20th anniversary of UTTAD.
Say Goodbye, which was more than likely not recorded during the full band session, perhaps Dave solo.
Let You Down, which was more than likely not recorded during the full band session, perhaps Dave solo.
Kind Intentions (#32) - though it may have been simply a jam in the studio.
Drive In, Drive Out - not entirely sure this was recorded, just going off what Dave told a fan in 1994, that they were going to “try it out during the album session”.
Get In Line - due to later soundchecks it is believed this may have been tried in the studio, but it may not have been.

Also, #34 was recorded with lyrics which were removed from the end result of UTTAD.

So there’s 12 songs that made the final cut, as well as one other we know was virtually finished (Granny). Then there’s 6 “maybe” songs that could have been tried/recorded/jammed in studio.

Yeah, I wasn't aware of those.

I didn't add People People cause I knew it was a co-write and I wasn't sure if the 36 they entered the studio with.

Here's the link to where I read about that:

That's awesome. Why are they giving us new stuff that has none of their old flair when there are already old tunes that clearly had a lot of potential for studio recordings?

The only thing I am truly interested in from this band right now, as far as spending money, is a Lost Dogs style compilation of the bands left behind studio tracks. They easily have a 2 disc set. Possibly 3 discs of good songs that are worthy of seeing daylight. I'm guessing they are saving that for when they call it quits though.

yeah I am hoping for the same....I dont know if they will wait until they call it quits, but I think they will have at least one more album of new material before that happens.

I hope they dont wait too long because Id like Shotgun to be recorded before Dave's voice gets shot

The way their management runs things, I wouldn't count on it. They're not known for giving the fans what they want.

They did give us Busted Stuff, and AFTW, even if not all of us liked it.

I'm not sure what you mean. I loved those albums, but that's not what I was talking about. I'm referring more to managements lack of ability to get the fans what they want. They have repeatedly released Live Trax albums that leave fans less than impressed, the Under the Table re-release has been an absolute disaster etc.
