I didn't mind doing it to support my local store, but I do agree with some people's view that it is a bummer to wait in line for hours in the cold (I only had to wait about 5 minutes, my store isn't as crowded as big cities) for something they could have just ordered online without messing with a crowd.

I'm not going to dispute there are people out there who really care about the rarity of something for the sake of that because there obviously are.

I go to RSD mostly because it's a fun experience - my local shop does an unbelievable job and I like supporting them for a variety of reasons. This BF I bought three things that were somehow exclusive to RSD (as of now anyway), two things including Recently that were called "RSD Exclusive" but can easily be grabbed through online stores, and two things that I could get anywhere any time that had nothing to do with RSD just because I was there and wanted them.

My issue is when RSD tries to make something seem more collectible or rare than it truly is, like they did here. That's it.

Every RSD the Warehouse has sold the music. People care about the special rarity factor, not having music on vinyl.

that's not true at all. i only care about having music, i couldn't care less if it's a colored vinyl. and actually i prefer black vinyl, if it's my choice.

and while it's true that all of the past RSD releases were technically "available on the warehouse", that's very misleading when you consider how fast they sold out.

Exactly. And the numbers are a nice touch - it's fun to see the list Chad keeps and be a part of it. But I wasn't thinking about any of that when I spun part of LT3 again over the weekend.
