He still is one of Rock and Roll's greatest drummers. These past few years doesn't negate the past two decades of work.

I consider myself to be pretty positive about the band most of the time, but I've listened to portions of this tape and looked at the setlist several times, and I have zero desire to buy it. And I have every single one of the previous LT releases. Maybe down the road I'll stumble onto a torrent of this one, but that'd be the only way I'll own it.

Yeah, like most in here have said, I have no desire at all to listen to this LT.

At the VERY least, I've listened to a couple songs on every LT so far, even 27. I don't see myself listening to anything off of this LT. That's sad.

The thing is, Davis voice is usually raspy. He's approaching 50. His voice hasn't been great for almost a decade now. Those who think it's good are kidding themselves

I stopped going. I also stopped blindly buying all the crappy shows they put out. I only buy good ones that are of interest to me; mainly anything prior to 2004 or so. I've disliked Rashawn from the start; he always sounded too loud, sloppy and entirely unnecessary to me.

Are you refering to the intro with the "buh buh AAAAAAANNNNNNNHHHHHHHHHHHH, buh buh AAAAAAAAANNNNNNNHHHHHHHHHH!" note? That note has been driving me nuts for years now, I really dislike that change.

Unfortunately it started when Roi was still around. I think you can hear the early start of it on the Piedmont Park release. Its probably the exception that proves the rule that Roi never made any musical mistakes.

I feel like I've given this release adequate time to grow on me and it's just not happening.

On the topic of OSW, that horn line doesn't have the smooth flowing feel that it did with Roi. LT13 OSW was great. The drop off after that was apparent....(LiNYC ).

I don't really mind raspy voice Dave, that usually gives a raw tone to his voice that I enjoy. Here however, it sounds like he's choking on air. Just a sloppy performance from everyone in general. Despite the shitty pick of a night and the disappointment that 2014 was I was still looking forward to a release of an acoustic set, a shorter #41, If Only, Granny, Space Between, and LLD. I'll stick with my original opinion that this Granny is my favorite released and it's cool to have a sbd of a 3.0 Space Between but there's not much else to this.

It's because they don't bend the note like Roi did. I do remember some versions where it didn't sound right with Roi and it was because of Rashawn. He just plays the note straight through without bending it.

Agreed . That's the only reason I attended Tampa and both WPB gigs .

Friends came down from Ct for the Florida run. I said fuck it I'll drive to Tampa , hit the Hard Rock for 2 days , the beach etc

We had a great time , especially at the disastor that was WPB N1 .

No worries, 2015 will be great. The bitch slapping Brian Calhoun gave Dave knocked all kinds of sense into him.

First listen thru gotta say it was pretty rough at spots.. not many highlights performance wise.

There's no way they sounded this bad all of 2014, right?

I had fun at Camden and Jax, and those weren't the best shows of 2014 either.

I mean yeah I thought they sounded real good at the shows I attended. Specifically SPAC and Burgettstown/Bristow. I was more or less jokingly saying that I hope my ears weren't deceiving me all summer.

i also think the way the band is now recording the songs is different then in the past or the way they are mixing these releases. cuz i listen to video i have taken from the band the last few years and they sound great. then i listen to the tapes and usually sound as good. but once you listen to the raw releases. it sounds so different. its almost as if the last few years of releases they are not cleaning up the audio anymore and just slapping on a cd and selling it to us.

and the point of dave voice. he has sounded better in the last few years until you get past June then it goes downhill fast. 09'-10' it was rough. the break helped and it bounced back for awhile.

and the point of dave voice. he has sounded better in the last few years until you get past June then it goes downhill fast. 09'-10' it was rough. the break helped and it bounced back for awhile.
I think the mixing is getting more difficult to do because of the dynamics of this current line-up. When Dave sings quiet, he's almost whispering and you can barely hear him. When the band is loud, Dave yells loud. The difference in dynamics is huge and that can make it really hard to create a good mix. The same goes for Dave's guitar playing. He relies on Tim so much now that he plays differently. He plays with a lot more palm muting, which makes his guitar sound really soft.

This is true, but we know they can make a mix sound good. Atlantic Ctiy release is great. If they'd put some time into mixing and adjusting volume levels, this release would not be nearly as awful.

I was just listening to Typical Situation on the bonus disc, and you can barely even hear Dave playing and singing during a lot of it. He's singing so quietly, that even if you turn up the volume of his vocals, it would sound odd because he's basically whispering
