you're right, the game is amusing and it is cool to have all of these properties in one game, and it is very clear that they put great effort into making the game worth all of the added cost. i don't feel like this was just a simple cash grab. that said, the implementation of the base unit and interaction needed to do things in-game has frustrated me on many occasions. for example, i don't want to have to wait until i reach certain parts of the level to find the instructions to build the vehicles. for that i've resorted to youtube videos so i can have the build already completed by the time i reach that point in the game. not to mention the constant need during key points of the game to continuously cycle the same characters across the three colored platforms to accomplish the objective. i especially dislike the 'hacking' game. not all of these puzzles are intuitive, either.

so, i think the game is worthy of praise and how they created a story using all of these different properties is to be commended. the level designs are varied (i especially like the look of the scooby-doo animated level) and creative. game-wise, it's hard to say this isn't among their best. but the clunkiness of playing with the base platform and constant shuffling of characters across the base has worn thin with me.

You are right - Amazon has been my greatest friend when finding some of the add-ons. I find a character or a level pack on sale and then we have doled them out slowly as incentives for grades, behavior, etc.

I understand what they were going for with the portal - it makes the portal more interactive instead of just setting them on it and forgetting it. As for the actual building aspect, I've left most of that up to my son.

I'm curious as what to what the next expansion will be. The last announced content comes out on the 10th.

COD is one of those things where if i had a remastered MW or MW2 then i would for sure buy and play them like crazy. those two games were huge and classics. the futuristic shit I'm not a fan of but if they bring those two games back, then I'm getting real excited for them.

Finally revisited Halo 5 and finished up the campaign tonight. It was a fun campaign, really impressed with what 343 has done to the franchise with this game.

Can't wait to dive back into multiplayer when I get back from vacation.

Initial reviews are that it starts slow and plods along gameplay wise, and then picks up completely and becomes very fun to play.

Yep picking up Uncharted tomorrow as well. Seems to not be the perfect 10 that the last 2 were.

Most reviews say climbing becomes way tedious.

Just finished the first uncharted game (i'm way behind) and it was pretty good. My buddy told me they get better with each game. I'm not a big fan of puzzles and solving stuff - much more run and gun. I'll give the others a play just because I have them (came with the console).

I grabbed the Collection and played through the first three, really fun and it didn't take too long. It seems like 4 definitely has a big story focus. I'd recommend playing through the originals

Started Uncharted 2 - geez, this game is way better than the first one just in the first 4 chapters. That opening train crash scene was intense.
