Going further than that though, the guy clearly knows what movies need, especially in this era of his film career. He's in the middle of maybe the greatest career comeback in Hollywood history that wasn't self-inflicted by doing a shitton of blow.
He's fairly obviously the directorial back-up plan if Snyder doesn't give what WB wants from a director standpoint for their grand plan moving forward; I'd say almost to the point where they'd want him to fail so Affleck would take over.
But above everything else...maybe watch him first before you start crying about how much what he did in the movie that hasn't come out yet sucks?

I'd definitely be interested in seeing him direct some of these movies. It would be sweet if his friendship with Kevin Smith could be utilized in some way. That dude knows comics inside and out and would be great to have on hand when directing a DC movie.
I get some of the trepidation from some fans. I really liked Man of Steel, but I do see how others don't. I'm open to different interpretations of these characters as that's what the comics have been doing for years. I'm loving the New 52 stuff, and I feel some of the Batman/Superman stuff may be drawing a bit from that. They also draw from some of the older material, so I like the mix of old and new.
Some of the feedback these movies that haven't been released yet has been a bit over the top. Maybe they'll suck, but maybe they'll be awesome. I have faitht hat these will be really solid movies. I like to think that Snyder heard some of the feedback from Man of Steel and will be working to make Dawn of Justice as great as it can be. Ben Affleck is an OK actor. I agree he's not great, but I just have a good feeling about him as Bruce Wayne/Batman. In this day and age I think anyone that steps into a role like this knows the stakes and I have a good feeling Affleck will do it justice (no pun intended).
