What happened to Boyd's solo in this song? From the gorge on it seems he has not had a solo during Belly Belly Nice.

It's a travesty. Turned a song that bridged early dmb with the present -a "classic" sounding, dmb 3.0 soaked track- into a run of the mill Shake Me Like a Monkey knock off. Just another casualty of Boyd's downward spiral of increasing irrelevance in the live performance.

He solos, you can't hear it on the vid mixes, but he is clearly playing his violin.

Nevermind, I'm mistaken...disregard...nothing to see here.

Why would the band do that? There are some dvd's where he is turned down so low that he can barely be heard. I really don't understand it.

I just can't get enough of this song. It's by far my favorite off the album. There are some really great tunes on the album like Broken Things, Rooftop, Snow, Soldier, The Riff but BBN always puts a smile on my face. I could hear it at every show and be happy. I just wish you could hear Boyd on the solo!

I know everybody has been bitching about the Boyd solo but only because it was such an unreal classic DMB moment caught in the studio. I remember cranking up the bridge section through the violin solo for the first time and being floored by what this band is still capable of creating. Really hope they include him the mix this summer.

I freaking love this song. I love when boyd is soloing and the vocals come back in during it. I really hope Boyd's solo comes back; it really sets this song on another level. Even the first time it was played, Boyd wasn't perfect by any stretch but it still was way better with it than without.

IS this ever going to be released to the radio? It has hit written all over it. Everyone I play it for has it in their head for days.

Do you think they are done with radio releases for AFTW?

^ should of been the lead single IMO. They should release it now and then Rooftop a month or two later. It's a huge mistake by management not to release those songs.

I really think this is one of my least favourite DMB songs. It's just not DMB in the slightest. I find it really poppy, and the lyrics suck - the whole 'but what about WWYS' argument I dislike: WWYS is very poetic, and even if it is nonsensical, it's beautifully nonsensical, whereas BBN's lyrics are horrendous. I really dislike the use of peaches and preachers, I don't really know why.

Lol it's most certainly a dmb song. A good one too, especially studio with Boyd tearing shit up.

Top 3 song off the album, just wish they'd let BOYD SOLO! He's playing it, Dave's just a douche.

I come to the boards for this sort of in depth, behind the scenes information.

I'm sorry, but I find this a terrible song. Probably the worst on the album.
I've seen it compared it to "Ants Marching" and I had to laugh. "Ants Marching" is a masterpiece. This, on the other hand, is just awful.

I don't like the trumpets, the melody isn't that great, and Dave's voice sounds bad. And don't even get me started on the lyrics. Did Dave write them? I mean, just that title alone is cringe-worthy!
