Let me just say, if you don't like this song, I truly feel sorry for you, and I suspect that you have to be pretty jaded or pretentious to not enjoy it.

It's one of the most fun songs since Billies and Too Much, and it is fun dmb at their best. Everyone contributes, it slams out of the gate, but builds even more. 2 great solos, probably the best melodies on the entire record (and one of the few songs where it felt like Dave Matthews attacked the song vocally like...well Dave Matthews), and truly just makes you want to smile and move. Pun intended...you feel this song in your belly. There's been a lot of really good fun songs since Billies and Too Much and I think BBN is right there with them. Great, happy, fun DMB, I will never tire of that.
let me say this, if you like this song, i feel sorry for you. i suspect youre pretty naive or confused. does anyone thats of any maturity listen to a song because its "fun"? last time i listened to a song because i thought it was fun was when i sung in the elementary choir.

You must have missed the rest of my post...driving guitar riff, valuable contributions from each band member, 2 great solos, layered production, infectious chorus...

You must be a real treat at a concert by the way. If you really can't wrap your head around the notion of a song being "fun" and how that can apply even when you're an adult, you're either an idiot, or as I said before, an extremely jaded individual. Do you not have "fun" during the "fun" songs at concerts? What do you do during Billies and Ants?

Great tune. Chorus rocks and the production on the album is nice.

It's even better live, too. SMLAM has gotten much better live, though I think it's always rocked.

Can't wait to hear BBN in about a year or two live after growing, Boyd & Jeff are going to tear that shit up.

The slowed it down pretty substantially this summer. That helped a lot.

Agreed, they sound like the ompa lompas from the Johnny Depp Willey Wonka. This is my only complaint on the entire album. Makes me cringe every time.

I love SMLAM, and the studio version had punch. No denying. Live it often has the opposite affect on the crowd that such a seemingly high energy song should have. Like someone said a few posts up, it might be Dave's vocals. Who knows. Also, D&T SMLAM doesn't translate to the point of almost awkwardness, like it's under-rehearsed, which it's probably not. I'll take studio SMLAM over studio BBN, but I can almost guarantee I'll take BBN live.

This one, for me last night, translated the best live, for AFTW, right now, hearing it for the first time at Izod. Loved it. Hope to get it Mohegan again.

Its a shame what they are doing with boyd basically turning his off his violin unless its a staple solo like nancies or billies

Agreed. I was so amped on N1 of Izod to hear Boyd go nuts on this (maybe even an extended solo, analogous to that of the Crush solo studio vs. live), and was absolutely SHOCKED that he was turned down on the one part he shined through brightest on the album.

Other than that, this song was awesome live. Gets the crowd moving and sounds great.

A little off topic, but Funny The Way It Is sounds much better ever since they slowed it down. It was way too rushed in 2010/2011

Seems to depend on the night. It's all over the place. One night he's nowhere to be found, the next he's crystal clear and then the next show he's faintly in the background. Apparently "Love! Love! Love! Love, love, love, love, Love!" is more important than the best part of the song.
