Absolutely perfect. Great, great riff. It's been my favorite tune from the record since listen 1, and still is. Plus Dave doesn't fall into the pitfalls of some of the other songs with the chorus melody/lyrics on this one, it's fantastic.

Loved seeing how excited Dave was when it was over too. You could tell he was happy they nailed the debut.

A few weeks after hearing it, Broken Things is still the best song on the album for me.

This, although Snow Outside, Drunken Soldier and sometimes Rooftop are pretty damn close.

I agree--but The Riff is also way, way up there on the list.

This was always one of my favorites on the new record, but after hearing the D&T version it might have moved to #1. Simply beautiful music and lyrics all around. Can't wait to hear it played full band!

Before the album came out, my #1 concern was what is going to happen with Boyd. This concern has been completely wiped away. Boyd is freakin' back. His solo in this song, his little lick at the beginning of the first chorus on Gaucho, or his quick strokes towards the end of The Riff...just freakin' sweet. And I LOVE how he is back on a traditional/acoustic violin. While I do like Boyd on his Zeta at times, like on Grey Street, more times than not, I'll take Boyd on a regular violin.

Broken Things is freaking awesome D&T. I love how we all had the right chords but Dave is phrasing them different in the chorus and bridge by playing them in the higher position on the neck.
