Thanks for the update and awesome to hear. I need to get some fresh releases from the NE, then find a trade partner with Veil to get my hands on some.

Anyone grab a 12pk of lagunitas sucks yet? I grabbed one of the limited edition 12pk (with santa on it). The package date is 256 6 which is Julian code for 9/21/16. what's up with that? Why are they putting 2month old sucks in holiday packaging?

Come on man. Serious thread. Don't open the gates to trolling.

Serious question though. Why are they packaging 2mo old beer in holiday packaging?

I picked up some two roads while in CT a few weeks back. Just got around to sampling last weekend and was pretty impressed.

Sorry, couldn't help myself... first thing that came to mind.

Honestly, not sure. They didn't want to dump it? They wanted to make money on it?? Probably the most logical answers.

Lagunitas replied to my message and said they would let my distributor in my area know. I don't know what that means. It's not like the distributor is repackaging bottles from September in holidays packaging.

the distributor could have easily just held onto the bottles though and not put them out immediately. distributors don't value freshness as they should. If it's in holiday packaging, they'll wait until the holidays to put them out.

Then that's on Lagunitas for giving distributors holiday packaging in October. That shit shouldn't be out until November at the earliest.

that's what I don't get though. why would lagunitas package them in holiday packaging in mid-September?

the packaging is like a present. has a santa on it and has a tag for, "TO:" and "FROM:".

Agree here. I love that it is in 6ers rather than bombers this year and can't wait until it hits Minnesota.

Anyone successful in acquiring much Bourbon County Coffee this year?

I was able to pull 8 regulars and 2 Barleywine total - that was across a few places in KY visiting my folks for Thanksgiving as well as my local shop here in CA. Seems like there was a ton a regular this year but variants were very scarce.

able to get two coffees that was it.

also didn't see nearly as many black friday events in philly as in years past. Only one place had coffee on draft that I saw.

I'm certainly not back in the game but tried to get Myers some coffee here but the store didn't get any. In speaking with some old friends in line nobody in Colorado had seen any on Friday.

I did. Things were definitely a little more scarce, but at least in the suburbs lines were short. Shortest since maybe 2013? I also had.... helpers. We'll use that word. Helpers. For some reason girlfriends get mad when you call the mules....

Living up to the name of the brew...

Call me crazy, but I think I prefer Sierra Nevada Celebration. I love all things Deschutes, and Sierra Nevada is a huge brewery, but Celebration and Ruthless Rye are pretty phenomenal beers. Unless you're talking about their aged Jubelale stuff, to which I have little knowledge. Deschutes prices their rare stuff very high.

For anyone here that likes, or has enjoyed, Single Cut, they are now canning and will be releasing their first cans this Friday. They set the price point high from the get go, both cans are $20 per 4-pack. In reality, $20 per 4-pack is not outrageous for the local market, just interesting that didn't go with $16 or $18 on first release to see about demand.

Jesus Christ. $20 for a 4-pack is fucking absurd. I mean, it's good beer, don't get me wrong, I've liked almost everything I've tried from them. No chance I'd pay that, but I'm sure there are plenty out there who will.

I have a hard enough time justifying paying $14 for a 4-pack of Boom Sauce, and I do that like once a week . $20, GTFO
