Hah, you had the sour, thats great.

Yeah Coconut Porter just got a Silver Medal at the LA International Beer Festival. Beat Maui Coconut Porter, so we will call that a win.

I've stopped trying to collect beers. I tend to get to try stuff due to my position, but even then i prefer local fresh stuff.

Electric Ray, the Ballast Point collab with SN in Beer Camp is absolutely incredible. This beer should be a mainstay in BP's rotation!

Just asked my buddy if we were getting Stickee in, and he said nope. Bummer. At least we've gotten Parabola and Merkin.

Other brews I had last night...
Brouwerij de Molen Hel & Verdoemenis a really tasty imperial stout from a brewery Ive never heard of.
Orange can Fistful of Hops from Kevin. Delicious and super dank.
Space IPA from Half Acre, another real solid IPA from them, no surprise there.
Stickee Monkee, as mentioned. Super sweet, barrel and bourbon melded really nice with the beer, just delicious.
Elijahs Revival - never had a "wheat wine" before so idk what the style is really supposed to taste like, but I know it was delicious.

Shopping for MBB this week.... Apologies for the delay - after back to back BBQ events, I'm just starting to come back to reality. This weekend at the Harpoon Brewery was awesome - Free beer for 3 days, what's better than that?? I might still be a little hungover... detox this week for sure.

I am happy to report I purchased a beer that was NOT Sucks last night, Against the Grain's Citra Ass Down. I hope it's good as it wasn't exactly cheap.

That being said I also bought another half gallon of Sucks.

Hate to even bring up the topic however fall will be here before we know it. I'm not typically a fan of pumpkin ales, especially Pumpkin Head and whatever else... however Dogfish Head's Punkin Ale... CAN'T WAIT.

Until then, Saranac Pale Ale's have been treating me rather well.

Some of the against the grain beers sound good, but they are so expensive around here. An American brown ale for $15???? A DIPA for $17??? Just ridiculous. Did have a Bo & Luke at a tasting last Friday and that was damn tasty, so that is definitely worth it from them.

Yeah I think pumpkin beers are starting to get out there now. Which I still stand by my previous stance. They can release pumpkin beers whenever the hell they want to. Screw seasonal drinking!! Lol

I've had a few of their beers and I've enjoyed what I've tried so far but I'll report back on the DIPA but yeah it was pricey especially considering I could buy almost 3/4 gallon of Sucks for the same price

Meh... I typically don't drink them unless its nearing fall or is fall. I like them, but if I ever had one now, it would be depressing. Sept is when i start to transition over from lighter wheat ales and IPA's to darker ales and what not.

the problem with that thinking is that I think you limit yourself and you miss out on awesome beers because of the whole season attitude. I do 80% of my drinking inside my house...and the environment is temp controlled year round, so it's completely idiotic for me to refuse to drink a stout in July if I am inside....and honestly, I'd drink one outside too. Beer to me has no season.

I don't get the hate for releasing stereotypically seasonal beers whenever. Even if I don't want to drink a pumpking ale or Oktoberfest in the fall, why shouldn't someone else be able to if that is what they want to do? Having the beer available early doesn't affect me at all if I don't want to drink it.
